Jane Eyre is one of my favorite novels, and Ellen Page seems appropriate. I had pictured her slightly older though, but whatever.
I read this as: "it would be the first period for Page". Which works on a few diff levels, but I'm thinking the bloody route.
is it wrong that i want to punch ellen page?
can she talk without being a wee cynical quirkster? are we sure?
I think sans makeup Ellen Page pretty much looks like what I imagined good 'ol plain Jane to be. Although I do I agree I saw her a little older.
She's an excellent actor and a good choice for this role.
I have to echo what most have said already - Jane Eyre is supposed to be awkward and superfically plain (but her love for Rochester makes her glow in such a way that she's very pretty) - I bet Ellen Page knocks this role out of the ballpark without so much as flexing a pinkie to do so.
