EASY TRANSITION "Alec Baldwin says he's … mulling a run for public office. The Massapequa, L.I., entertainer, eldest of the four Baldwin brothers turned actors, says in an interview airing Sunday that politics looks appealing now that he's turned the corner on 50. 'There's other things I want to do,' besides acting, the left-leaning performer tells CBS' '60 Minutes.' 'There's no age limit on running for office, to a degree.' It is 'something I might do one day,' he said."

I can only hope that him as a politican will be a cross between his character, Ellerby, in the Departed and his character, Jack Donaghy, on 30 Rock.
I'm sure there is plenty of shit lots of people think or say about Alec but I find him to be highly intelligent and compassionate.
I think he would do well in the Public Sector.
Go For It Alec
I agree. I love him on 30 Rock - I mean seriously I love him, his arrogance and his sarcasm.
I also love when he calls Tina Fey "Lemon".
I can't really take him seriously at this point.
Maybe because I am watching Team America right now.
(Or maybe because I can still remember the way he talked to his young daughter in that infamous phone call.)
You know your life isn't worth living when you spot the spam on Mollygood before the actual editors.
I just have to keep going back to Team America, because damn it, it is still funny.
From the movie:
Alec Baldwin says: By following the rules for the Film Actors Guild, the world can become a better place; that handles dangerous people with talk and reasoning; that, is the F.A.G. way. One day, you'll look at the world that us actors created and say, "wow, good going f.a.g., you really made this world a better place."
Plus, I really think he was VERY out of line with his daughter on the phone. ( in a real life phone call-Candid Camera gone wild.)
We all heard that.
We all get irritated with our progeny, but that was just out of control. If that is how he talks to the apple of his eye, then I have no use for him.
"You can pretty much bet all you own that I would never leave another voicemail message for my daughter that wasn't just like something out of a Rodgers and Hammerstein score"
see qc, Alec learned from his mistake. He'll never again supply the public with evidence of abusive comments towards his daughter. He'll instead call her a "thoughtless little pig" to her face.
This man's made for politics
Lest we forget, Minneapolis elected Jesse THE BODY Venture and California elected Ahnold ITS NOT A TUMAH Schwarzenegger. And wasn't Jerry Springer a Mayor of a town in Ohio?
Jesse actually wasn't that bad of a governor.
As far as the daughter thing, I've heard worse coming from my parents or my friend's parents.
Minnesota*** My bad, I forget that state even exists sometimes.
I'm just saying: Children love to push the buttons.
If I had a nickle for everytime that I have taken my own children, or I have been charged with the care of other people's children, and we are on an elevator, the children always want to push the buttons to light up every floor. Go ahead, push them all. You just have to patiently explain to them that they can't push the big red emergency button. You can explain to them what will happen if they push that big red button a whole bunch of unwanted drama will ensue.
Your own children know exactly how to push your rage button. But a normal, thinking, in control of their emotions, adult human being doesn't engage in that type of behavior that this man indulged in. (With his own child!!)
You may feel like going off, and in your mind's eye, you are thinking of all these terrible words.
As parents, we know seriously, there is an aqueduct made of steel and cement that prevents us from spewing this out onto your children and channnel it down somewhere else. Into the beer, into the golf course, or where ever else you work it out. I have been there so many times, if I had that nickel!!
That is called being the adult.
I know that the children of divorce have the extra benefit of thinking that they are at their other parent's house and the other parent will back up (and encourage) their bad behavior toward you, but you can never give in to that base feeling.
I expect more from adults, and especially our future leaders.
Hey, if I can keep it together, I expect the leaders to at least be able to keep it together.
We make mistakes. But not like this. He gave in.
It's a test of character to be a parent. And to me, he failed in the character department.
(I got you Luuk, just so you know. That was good)
