In the wake of California's decision to lift its ban on gay marriage, George Takei, the Japanese American actor who played Mr Sulu on Star Trek, has announced that he will soon marry his partner and manager, Brad Altman.
Takei and Altman have been together for 21 years and they love each other very much. Clearly, their wedding will be a tremendous blow to family values.

Twenty-one years together - you can't even add up all of Pamela Anderson's AND Jennifer Lopez's marriages and that much time together!
good for them.
Neither Pamela Anderson or Jennifer Lopez should be a measure for anything.
In order to get married you have to have a license right? Same thing goes for driving, correct? Why is it that people who continue to fuck up the institution of marriage are allowed to do so time and time again, when gay couples who've been together for decades can't marry at all (except in Cali)?
If you prove yourself to be a shitty driver, you eventually get your license taken away right? Why not have people who are equally bad in marriage lose thier ability to to get married all the time?
I think the institution of marriage is spent far better on this couple than on Pamela Anderson or Elizabeth Taylor.
Just a random thought.
I can only think of what a shame it is Nevada doesn't allow same-sex marriage. Because how freaking awesome would it be for Sulu to get married at the Star Trek Experience. Not that a part defines the man, but - Warp Core Breach is yummy!!!!
Couldn't agree with you more - just saying that if their straight "marriages" are supposed to be a sign of family values, probably better not to measure at all.
Wait, hold up just a second. Sulu is gay?
Kidding aside, good for them. He should get William Shatner to give him away.
amen, blah.
i mean, blam!
ha ha ha ha ha STM!!!
Full ahead, Mr. Sulu.
Congratulations.
