FUNNY, BECAUSE WE ALL CONSIDER MILEY TO BE THE NEXT TRAIN WRECK "Billy Ray Cyrus says his family considers famed Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz — who famously shot Miley semi-topless — to be a paparazzi."

No. 1 Kitchy says:

I'd say she took advantage of Miley. Paparazzi, not so much.

Do you really think Billy Ray knows what paparazzi means?

It's a pretty big word for an illiterate.

No one was taken advantage of. Have you seen the other pictures of Miley? This girl knows what is sexual and what isn't. The shoot was a calculated move, and so is the 'outrage' they are trying to manufacture now. BRC has been a hack ever since his "achey-breaky" days.

If anyone is taking advantage of Miley its her dad.

I don't think she took huge advantage of her. I just think she did things like wait until Mom and Dad left to sweet talk her into the shot.

I don't think Miley went into it blindly, but I also don't think she calculated it. I don't think she was quite that ready to put that out there.

It's "paparazzo". The singular form of paparazzi is paparazzo, after a Fellini character named Paparazzo.
And Billy Ray is a remarkably stupid man if he doesn't know the difference between a portrait photographer who works in studios and grubby street photographers who ambush celebs as they're coming out of restaurants.
Of course, I never expected he would.

Of course, I still have trouble understanding what was inappropriate about the photo.

Unless this was improperly quoted, I would remind Mr. Cyrus that Annie Leibovitz, though tremendously influential, cannot actually be the entire "paparazzi" as she is only one person. It's a little thing, I know. But it really isn't that difficult to speak correctly - it's paprazzo. Unless you are spending all of your time riding the coat-tails of your daughter's fame instead of ensuring you speak correctly and teach by example.

You know, looking at the quote, that's not really what Billy Ray said.

"I was catching these crawdads [with daughter Noah, 8] and all the sudden this paparazzi lady jumps out with this big bazooka lens and starts snapping away," Billy Ray said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Monday. "My little girl Noah looks up and says, 'Is that Annie Leibovitz?'

I'm guessing the little girl used the name because it's the only photographer she knew, not because she thought Annie herself was a paparazzo. The statement is backward - his daughter thought the paparazzo was Annie, not the other way around.

Ok I'm done defending the asshole.

I don't think she took advantage of her at all. Everyone thought the photo was fine, including her family, until the media blew it out of proportion.

I've been a fan of Annie Leibovitz work for years. She is in the top 5 of great photographers of all time in my book. And long after Miley and her hillbilly dad cease to be relevant, Annie Leibovitz will still be one of the leaders in her field. I think they threw her under the bus to save there own so called squeaky clean image.

You're dead to me Billy Ray. *tares shirt*

Why was that stupid cover even an issue? Who the fuck cares? It's not like there was a giant whitehead on her back that needed to be popped or something.

I think they should have had David LaChapelle do a portrait, that would have been a lot more fun. And I must agree, there was no advantage taken at all. And I still don't see how that photo was a big deal.

I don't think anyone was taken advantage of. Those pictures aren't even bad! It's this type of schizophrenia that only encourages kids to do this kind of thing because it's considered so "edgy".

Besides, if Miley, her parents or her manager thought that this photo shoot crossed the line, they should have stated as much while they were on set or had thier lawyers intervene and pull the photos. No one was upset until there was a reason to be upset.

No. 16 Kitchy says:

Annie deliberately waited until her parents left to set up the shot.

I don't see anything wrong with the shot, but I think she planned how it all happened, which in my book makes her taking advantage of the situation if not the people.

Then again I've never felt she was all that.
