i'm not really surprised the jury found him not guilty. the prosecution didn't have a very good case and they had 6 years to prepare.

Great. I mean, taking into account that he was married to Aaliyah when she was like 15 years old, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I didn't see the sex tape, but if she liked it, does that make it okay? Is that what the law says?

I know I shouldn't be surprised he got off, so to speak, but I am. I thought they would nail him to the wall.

The fuckery of it all is they DID find the mole. I am guessing the issue is proving the girl's age? Who am I kidding, the issue is that people love a Zorro mask.

It's really not surprising given the fact that this happened in Chicago. This is such a fucking crooked town where corruption runs rampant. I'm not suprised at all.

here's my take:

the prosecution didn't do their goddamn job. and r. kelly had a great defense team. it took the prosecution six years to bring that fucker to trial all the while whinging that r. kelly's lawyers were drowning them in motions. um, hello? that's what defense lawyers do. so by the time the case goes to trial, the girl is no longer an impressionable teenager whose rights should have been protected, but a 23 or 24 year old who denies that it ever happened because she probably doesn't want the world to know that the trapped in the closet dude emptied his bladder all over her face.

so you're left with the victim who says it never happened and a star witness who admitted to stealing some 20K watch from r. kelly and whose credibility is therefore shot to hell.

and then defense shows the "headless fucking" videos (they played the video and removed the heads of the people on the video), evidencing how easy it is to doctor and manipulate videos.

i'm sorry, but the prosecution fucked this one up, ROYALLY.

(i'm not an r. kelly apologist, but it pisses me off when lawyers don't do their jobs properly, expect that the fact that the case is being tried in the media will get them a guilty verdict, and then are STUNNED when they fucking lose.)

asshats. the lot of them.

respectfully,

i.p. freely
