THURMAN ENGAGED TO MAN WHO SHOWS AFFECTION WITH THINGS "Uma Thurman … is ready to walk down the aisle again with financier Arpad (Arki) Busson … Busson, who has two children with supermodel Elle Macpherson, just presented Thurman with a engagement ring so big 'she can't fit it through the sleeve of her coat' …" Oh, wonderful: a diamond so huge it's inconvenient! How do people this crazy get so much money into their nutty bank accounts?

I read this headline and thought it meant he has fetishes. I think I've lost my mind. Earlier I saw a CNN headline that read "Rodents weaken, bust levee; deluge follows" and it conjured up a mental image of rodents sitting around trying to resist the urge to destroy the levee, until finally giving in and acquiring explosives. Only after I read the article did I realize it didn't involve marmots humming the theme to The Dam Busters as they prepared to flood St, Louis.

What's with Americans and levees? Please hire a Dutch engineer (might as well outsource that too) and have them take care of this.

Why Dutch? Their country is below sea level and they have lots of levees. Their park service people actually kill rats so they don't damage the very well-maintained levees. They haven't had one of these disasters since the 50s I think. Someone please explain IKEA to me then.

I know diamonds are just some sort of graphite, or carbon, but boy, it is so sparkly in the sunlight!!

I also know that pearls are just some kind of debri that irritated an oyster like an ulcer, but they are pretty too.

I haven't seen a gallstone or a kidney stone. Do you think they can be unique and marketed to the masses as some special jewlery?

We might all be sitting on goldmines, so to speak.
