this reminds me of the time my mom caught my brother eating the marshmellow cream out of the jar. it was all over his face and hands and he was still holding the jar but he insisted that i was the one who did it. she told him "you're holding the jar, i know it was you" but he just kept saying it was me. my brother was four at the time which means that entertainment tonight is acting like a bunch of four year olds.
