I wonder if the feminists intend to let that sexist comment slide because Ellen is a woman?

Uh, John? It's a joke. Ellen is a comedian. She tells jokes. It's what she does. Ha Ha. Ha.

John, are you mad that you can't say things like this and have people know you're kidding? How very frustrating for you.

I only ask because you seem to be the only one upset about it, and I'm pretty sure the rest of us ARE feminists.

i love ellen. i caught her 2003 stand up routine on comedy central this morning. hilarious.

also hilarious? the roast of bob saget. cloris leachman, at age 82: "i'm not here to roast bob saget. i'm here to fuck john stamos."

youtube it, y'all. it's comedy gold.

STM I was so disappointed with it. What has made me laugh a bunch lately though is Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2006 and 2007… some BBC show with Russell Brand being as cute as he is hilarious. Bonus - Lily Allen is a little bit funny on it.

Is it weird that I can't watch roasts? Watching people make fun of and put down someone like that even in jest makes me all uncomfortable. I always worry that someone will take it too far, there will be a tussle and no one will be friends afterwards.

i like watching them. it seems like most of the comics are familiar with the rules… talk shit… don't get offended… because i think they are all friends from doing stand up together and stuff. and those who are asked to roast a comic usually are a fan and respect that comic. so it makes it ok somehow.

it does get a little weird when they roast people like pamela anderson or flava flav. since they are universally mocked and i doubt any of the comics are friends with them, those roasts can get mean.
