This Place Is Great
Fancy phones, corporate sponsorship, giants, war heroes, stars and stripes, football, sunny days, television, crowds and brotherly love. God bless America!

What? did he burn his bra too? with Trya
I'm trying to get a feel if this is one of Cord's sarcastic commentary's…saying this place is great, meaning it's not maybe? Hmmm.
I can't see what's so wrong with a nice phone, army heroe's or some football.
You forgot guyliner.
So American.
Oh heavens to betsy.
Cord, you forgot obesity. That's as American as apple pie - with extra whipped cream.
Lisa, he's not obese!
He's hard muscley man. Lots of muscle. Lots.
In odd places.
ps- mmmmm, whipped cream
I know right? Pie sounds delicious right about now. We can have in International Coffees moment - but with pie.
SS: you're right, but I think he is under too much stress. He needs some Cortislim. Damn cortosol!
Alli =)
Just don't stand behind him.
God, I hate having to wear my uniform at sporting events like this! It's odd for me because 1, I'd rather wear a cute outfit, and 2, everyone stares at you. Regardless of why people do it, I get so uncomfortable. I feel like I'm on display or something. Besides, sometimes the uniform scares little kids…I guess I can see why, but there's nothing quite as uncomfortable as a little kid scared to be next to you just because you are in uniform.
Blah, is it the littlest ones that get scared?
I live in an area with a couple of military schools so there are lots of people in uniform walking around. (The kids here must just be accustomed to uniforms.)
ps.to blah My ex used to be tropic lightning (25th?) and then was a light fighter (7th div.).
Now he's retired. Lucky.
Yes, it's usually the wee one's who are the most frightened. In military towns it's a bit different because the kids are used to it, but I've been stationed in places that have very little army personnel (like Atlanta and north of Chicago).
I've actually had little kids cry when I walked into a post office or when I have to get gas. Of course, you also get a few that are adorable. One little kid was 2 or 3 and he asked me where my sword was. Mostly though, you just get scared faces and the refusal to look at you in the eye.
It's just something that most kids aren't used to. It's sort of like Santa…little kids are always scared of that dude.
You know, that is true!! I feel so bad for those children who are bawling their eyes out, scared to death, while they are sitting on Santa's lap so their mom can get a picture!
That was me, circa 1981
You're not alone blah, I have a niece who has pretty much rejected my older brother since she was an infant because she was scared shit less of him. When he came home from Iraq we thought we'd have this touching family moment where she'd be happy to see her uncle but she bolted…as fast as a 1 year old could haha.
When I was little, anyone with facial hair freaked me out. My cousin Tim had long hair, a beard and a stache. I wouldn't go anywhere near him. Once he shaved all it off and got a haircut I wouldn't leave him alone.
