Going to see Coldplay sometime this week? No need to rehash our feelings on that band – we don't want to be redundant redundant and, contrary to what one might think, Chris Martin fans can get downright nasty – but we wanted to let you know that, from today until the 19th, you should get to any Coldplay show early for the opening band, Shearwater. They're great, from Austin and lending even more credence to the theory that, generally, the opening band is going to be better than the headliner. (Whoops! Guess we kinda rehashed our feelings.)
Here, we've attached the track "Century Eyes." Enjoy.

I just saw last month's Coldplay free concert post and comments for the first time… STM you like the Mighty Boosh? I love that shit!!! It's weird as hell and it's everything I ever wanted in a weird british show.
Oh - on topic - I neither hate nor like Coldplay.
Yes, they're better than Coldplay. But that's isn't much of a trick. When my husband and I rock out of the Wii Rockband, we're also a better band than Coldplay .. and we're playing toy instruments …
I am thrilled by the prospect of streaming music from mollygood but underwhelmed by this track.
meh i think they sound like any generic "were different" band out there.
I'M OLD GREG!
Cord, there are three other acts from Texas that make me tingle in my musical no-no spot:
-Old 97's (and not just because Rhett Miller has Pantene hair)
-Alejandro Escovedo (I swear his voice makes me want to cry, it's so achingly sad)
-Spoon (duh)
Ew. I only listened to like 4 seconds of his singing and was off-put.
