No Discernible Accomplishments

Not that it's not honest work, but do you ever get the feeling that this woman could do a whole lot more with her life than just stay out of the sun and hold up tubes of lipstick?

More wasted talent after the jump.

Sorry we can't/won't all join the Peace Corps and save the world…frankly I think her burlesque is pretty damn sexy and she at least had enough self-esteem, pride, and brains to dump the dirty cheating Manson.

    I completely agree with BeAdequite.

And I don't get why staying out of the sun is suddenly something to be mocked.

That's was an insanely ignorant comment. Dita is a great burlesque performer and a hard worker.

"Hard worker"? She poses with lipstick and occasionally strips in a large martini glass. I'm not saying she's a bad person, but hard worker?

You know what I find far more off-putting than Cord's advice on beauty tips for women?

His messages that are snotty and then end with "Best" just to make absolutely sure it sound as condescending as possible.

And that will be my vent of the day.

And for the record, if you don't realize burlesque is hard work, you've never tried it.

She also campaigns tirelessly for charities. Yeah, she's really sitting on her ass.

BTW, there's also nothing wrong with being tan. ::looking down at tan arms from being outside so much::

Oh there's absolutely nothing wrong with a tan. *lol* Just nothing wrong with being pale, either. In fact, I represent both categories - tan up to my sleeve, then pale. ;)

I wouldn't say I've officially burlesqued, BeAdequite. But it's fun to try, and it's a pretty good workout, even when playing around casually.

Cord's post made me go read up more on Dita - I had no idea that she's a classically trained ballerina. She takes burlesque to a whole new level.

Cord, would you offer the same criticism of legendary fetish model and burlesque model Bettie Page?

I am perfectly aware of what "Burlesque Dance" entails. The end result of a burlesque performance is the same as that of a stripper’s dance; titillation.
If you honestly thought about it, you'd realize that it's not different just because she's not paid in $1 bills.

    @Kitchy: That's what's known as a "farmer's tan".

On the scale of "wasted talent", running a celebrity blog is only sliiiightly less a waste of talent than posting comments on a celebrity blog. :-)

I, for one, am in love with Dita. Granted she's no MIT valedictorian, but she talented in an rtistic way. And that's not counting the fetish clothing and bondage pictorials she also does. As for being pale, it can be safe to say that she won't develop melanoma like the rest of you George Hamilton wannabes.

Once upon a time, being pale was a good thing. It meant that you had a life of leisure to have indoor pursuits and didn't have to labor outdoors for your livelihood.
