Moment Of Truth

A new Dark Knight trailer has been released a few days earlier than scheduled, this one focusing more on the rivalry between Batman and The Joker. The movie looks fantastic, but it's Heath Ledger's performance (and a shirtless Bale) that will be the main draw. So you tell us: Were you already excited about the movie before Ledger's unexpected death, or has the hype piqued your interest more than you care to admit?

Husband & I have been excited to see it because 1) Bale's a great Batman, and 2) they restarted the series and went back to the comics for inspiration. Ledger didn't and doesn't factor into it. We were skeptical as to whether he'd be a good Joker or not, so if anything his involvement was a negative. I'm not worried about it now - all indications are that Ledger did a bang-up job.

I was pumped up to see it since the end of the last Batman movie. I do think that a lot of people who might not have gone to see it in theaters will go now just because of Heath Ledger.

He factors into my desire to see it, but his death doesn't. I just think he looks like he did an amazing job and I'd want to see it regardless.

Been pumped since the last one–duh! While I was sad to hear about Heath's untimely passing, I am not looking forward to the media hype surrounding the upcoming release. I just hope they leave the family alone.

I'm with Kitchy. Always liked Heath as an actor, and was interested to see how he'd pull off the role of the Joker. And, of course, there is Bale, who I've been in love with since I went to see Empire of the Sun as a kid.

I'm a total nerd about this movie. This trailer broke a few days ago, actually. I've always loved the comic, and the hero in it (not totally perfect, a bit darker than other heroes) and Heath Ledger made it even better. Plus Nolan is a great director (Memento).
I do think it's funny that Harvey Dent (Two Face in the next movie) is played by Aaron Eckhart, but in the initial movie he was played by Billy Dee Williams.
    Plus….BALE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm always up for some shirtless Bale. BALE!!!!!!!!! I was planning on seeing it anyways since I liked the last one so much. I'm sure Heath will be awesome but we all know it's going to be the main topic of conversation in every single interview.

I'm a huge fan of Christian Bale & think he makes a fantastic Batman, so I was planning to see it all along. It does look like Heath Ledger did a great job as The Joker though.

well, kinda like everyone else has been saying, I've been excited to see this movie since the last batman movie. nolan is an amazing director, bale is a fab batman, and i was interested to see how ledger would pull off the joker. i'm acutally irritated with the fact that there will be a lot of people going to see the movie soley because of ledgers death. i'd rather see the movie with real fans.

I think the comparison between the two trailers above is very interesting (compares the one w/Jack Nicholson to the upcoming version)….veeeeeery similar

I have half a brain, so no. A dead guy won't make me go see a movie.

I am not a fan at all of the Batman movies, but the second I saw the trailer for this (sometime last year) I was totally excited. It looks far creepier and psychotic than the Batman's of the past. The fact that Heath was in it has no effect on me whatsoever. However, since so many people are going to see this because it was Heath's last film (why?…I don't get that fascination), I will probably wait a while before seeing it.
