For Having The Balls To Show Up Without An Invite

Whether you choose to accept it or not, American Idol has become a major presence in the music industry, with many contestants cranking out hit records, starring on Broadway, and … making fists at cameras. Last night's Grammy Awards attracted some of the best of the Idols, including Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood and Fantasia Barrino. Ace Young showed up as well for no apparent reason (other than to remind us he's still alive).

Ace Young is suffering from serious, color me badd, face. Hey, fella, could you not make some effort for the Grammy's? A tux isn't mandatory but Old Navy is probably not the way to go. I don't get the skunk hair either.

Yes, Ace was underdressed for the occasion, but that's ACE. He doesn't put on airs for anyone at any time. Even dressed this way, he still out-shown 99.9% of the men there. He was there because he was NOMINATED for a Grammy for co-writing Daughtry's "It's Not Over", so he had every right in the world to be there. Get the facts before you diss.

Anna, dressing appropriately isn't putting on airs. There's a difference between "being who you are" and "being a complete schlub when you're nominated for a Grammy". I would have been horribly embarrassed as a fan had he won and gone on stage in that get-up.

Daughtry managed to dress nicely and still look like himself. Why can't Ace learn that lesson? That logo arch thing on his shirt looks like the logo for the City of Fort Collins (Colorado) and I was seriously distracted by it.

He may not have dressed up, but he was a NOMINEE. Get your facts straight when you want to mock someone. Okay?

Yes, please calm down. Just light a few candles at your Ace shrine and all will be well. I'm very excited for the day he's on a future VH-1 bachelor show. At least he has his own hair and doesn't need a wig. Sorry, Bret.

Anna, thanks for pointing out the facts. I live close to Boulder, and Ace's Grammy nod was in the Sunday paper here. This is big stuff. He and Constantine should do a duet.

Right on Ace, you and Daughtry should have hit the grammy you were nominated for. "It's not over" was the best rock song of the year, love it. Especially if you take into account it more than doubled the sales of any other song nominated in the same category. Can't wait to hear your album come out, put this little Geriatrics party to rest next year.
