Is Our Children Learning?

Seventeen magazine's "Back-to-School" issue features a cover model with no diploma nor degree. Problem? Not when one considers that "Fall Shopping" greatly overshadows any mention of academics.
Look pretty in calculus, girls!

"Hot Hair Ideas!"
FAKE HAIR!
she looks like she finds the whole idea of being on the cover of 17 absurd
Naw she's just trying really hard to count to 17…Cord dare I say this post was FUNNY?!!! Keep it up.
Seventeen has never been a bastion of feminism, let's face it. I stopped reading it when I was 12, and Sassy came along.
…and then Sassy became Jane…and then Jane closed. Sigh. Is YM still around????
Amen, Kitchy. I wonder if she uses the clip-ons her sister's hawking on QVC.
Why does anyone even care about this chick? Because she's dating that ugly gayish dude from that poser band? I swear, her new face still bothers me. She looks unnatural.
Be A, YM shut down a couple of years ago, I think. Remember the boy version of Sassy, Dirt? I didn't like Jane as well as Sassy because I liked Christina Kelly's writing a whole lot better than Jane Pratt's star-fucking on every single page.
You can take the "ish" off "gay," lale.
Totally Evil…I had a hard time with the Goodwill-ish looking clothes in Jane that cost like, a whole paycheck for me. But still much better than Cosmo IMO.
Cosmo scared me as a young girl. All those headlines screaming, "2,397,980 WAYS TO TURN YOUR MAN ON IN BED!!!!!!!!!!!!"
While Cindy Crawford's mole stared at me threateningly from the cover.
Cindy didn't bug me too much. C. Schiffer did though- never saw the big deal about that one. I had a girl crush on Helena Christensen though!
I still do not get the attraction of Cindy Crawford. I think she looks like a man.
I feel bad calling him gay. He reminds me of an ugly little boy. Is he really into the dudes, then?
I used to love Cosmo because there were scandalous photos and the Maidenform woman ads. You never knew where she'd show up in a bra, and I couldn't wait for my tatas to fill in so I could do the same. Once I saw nip in Cosmo and I swear, I bookmarked the page. Don't even get me started on my mom's old Fredrick's of Hollywood catalogues!
I think this country is not big enough for two Simpsons so we should ship Jessica to China I think they will like her over there.
I beg Jess's big gaping maw would be a real hit in Thailand.
i'm so sick of seeing everybody in those stupid hats!!!!!
That Ken Paves guy is not looking too good in the background. A little sickly-ish.
Claudia Schiffer was the original Wonky Eye.
My favorite supermodels were Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista.
Long ago, Kim Alexis was my fave. Her mole was a big deal before Cindy's.
I've always thought Kathy Ireland was beautiful. I still think she is.
I wanted to grow up and have Stephanie Seymour's ass. I'm still waiting.
Oh, you're right. Her body was amazing.
Her body was crazy. Remember her in those G&R videos?
Oh yes. My favorite is the one with Rikki Rachtman in the wedding scene.
With all that hair, she reminds me of SJP in Hocus Pocus.
Elle McPherson always looked "perfect"- still does in her 40s now!
I always thought Helena's eyes were AMAZING- plus she dated Micheal Hutchence, god I love him.
Michael Hutchence, I miss that guy.
I do too. That was a hot man.
interesting how the post was about the vacuousness of the magazine but the main discussion it sparked was about who's your favorite supermodel. Mag's like 17 suck just for the reason Cord pinpointed. BUST is where it's at now.
I just don't enjoy it.
The Simpson sisters? The Olsen sisters? I fail to see why people bother with them. Ashley and that hat. Enough said.
