Yikes

Although Christian Bale was all smiles at last night's London premiere of The Dark Knight, sources claim all was not well with the Bale family just hours before. Christian's mother and sister reportedly went to the police Sunday night to accuse him of assault. He is being questioned today after authorities decided to allow him to attend the premiere. "It was a very difficult situation," a source said, "but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth." Let's hope it's not founded in truth.

Christian, Christian, Christian … what did you do?

Smart police officers. They only waited because if they tried to arrest him at the premier, they would have been jumped by hundreds of fans and a riot would have broken out.

I really hope this is not true because that would be a real shame, he seems like such a nice guy. Of course then you have to wonder if his wife is suffering in silence?

You need to get yourself a cape and some underoos before you beat someones ass. Just tell the cops you're on your way to a premiere. Let me know how it goes.

Remember, in Britain the procedures and terminology are different from those in the U.S., where assault is the "threat" of violence (and "battery" is the actual physical contact), and all persons are arrested before questioning. He's turned himself in at the Belgravia station. This will probably blow over quickly.

Oh that's right! I may be something that isn't really a big deal in the states, but it is in the UK.

What seems odd to me is that this is his own mother and sister. they have known him his entire life so if anything like this did happen they should not be surprised.

I am sure he has had "meltdowns" or whatever you want to term it, in the past. Granted perhaps in the past he never hit them, but like Poo stated, terminology is different in the UK so is there any evidence he hit either of them?

It is something that happened and should stay within the family. This never should have gotten out

I'll reserve judgment until more comes out. The timing seems a little to convenient to me. The family probably wants money.

Poo, I am confused by your syntax. Assault is a threat (well more, blah blah blah) in the US as well, unless that is what you were saying…?

Now I'm all ass backwards. Did he yell at his mother and sister or did he try and hit them? Maybe he was just showing them is crime fighting skills.

Not over him yet Iln.

Innocent until proven guilty. We all jump all over the Lohan's, Spear's and Kardashian's of the entertainment world. We take it for granted that these losers are Bat-Poop crazy loonies who are famewhoring along on the coattails of their famous kids. These people are only after money, and indeed view their kids solely as ATMs.

I will wait and see what happens here. Did Bale verbally threaten his kinfolf (cause that is all assault is, hitting someone is battery), or did they all get into an argument, as families do, and then the hangers on go whine to the police when Bale did not cater to their whims. This smells havey-cavey from top to bottom.

but srsly. no. never over the bale.

juju if you let your kids watch yo gabba gabba you'll be filing some kind of papers pretty soon anyway… admitting him to a mental hospital or bailing him out or cosigning with him on a loan to open up a dance studio that focuses on the new "flap your arms" style of dance…

I need to have a mother to mother talk with Mrs. Bale.

You always kiss up to the successful adult child. You never take the side of the unsuccessful adult child. (You use them as a scapegoat.)

The fact that you have to put up with the unsuccessful adult child will garner sympathy with the successful adult child.

Especially if the successfull adult child knows with all their heart that you always loved them best.

Mrs. Bale, your son is successful. He can get housekeepers and cooks for you. And drivers.

You have to think about who will best support you in your old age.

Gaaaahhhh! This isn't geometry here!
