Who Knew?

Barack Obama has released his first national campaign commercial, creatively titled "Country I Love." Other names considered were "Yes, This Is Still Going On" and "This Ad Is Pointless Because You Already Know Everything About Me."

How about "Emphasis on the American, de-emphasis on the african"? See how the frst part's in capital letters and the second isn't? I should become one of those campaign runner people.

That was a really good commercial I've got to say. I don't think I like either candidates views, but I like him as a person.

I’m sorry, are there no people of color in the country he loves?! …he's trying to hard to appease. I'm a hard core supporter who feels he needn't make ANY excused for his ethnicity. …the ignorant will be ignorant. The proud should REMAIN proud.

Can I be ignorant AND proud? That would be the best combination of the two, I think.

Yeah, what stood out to me in that add were all the white faces. 'Look, here's Obama with an elderly white lady!' 'Look, here he is with some fine white examples of our armed forces! See? he's not threatening at all!'

For sure he's far better than McCain, and it will be amazing to have someone in the White House who's not a white man, and he's really nice to listen to, but other than that, I'm not really impressed.

I didn't notice that there were "all white faces". Perhaps that says more about you, if you are so busy pointing out who's black and who's white. That sort of thing didn't even register with me. I don't care who he was raised by so long as he was brought up well.

I totally agree, Blah. I never noticed that - but I also don't look for that kind of thing either. I think it's pretty sad that you call someone ignorant, yet you're the one tallying up all the colors…
