Byzantine Election Process Sputters Forth
Hillary Clinton defeated Barack Obama in primaries in Rhode Island, Ohio and Texas last night. Obama won only in Vermont, though he also currently leads in the as-yet-undecided Texas caucus. Nevertheless, Hillary, rightfully so, talked some shit:
“No candidate in recent history — Democratic or Republican — has won the White House without winning the Ohio primary,” Mrs. Clinton, of New York, said at a rally in Columbus, Ohio. “We all know that if we want a Democratic president, we need a Democratic nominee who can win Democratic states just like Ohio.”
Despite Clinton's victories, Obama maintains a lead in elected delegate support.
If you're lost, you're supposed to be.

I can't believe that for the 1st time since I've been able to, my vote my actually make a difference in a primary. Indiana is one of the last states to hold their primary (May 6) and everything's usually been decided by then.
I'm still hoping the redneck factor doesn't propel McCain into the whitehouse simply because he's white and owns a penis.
Will Shrillary just go away?
If Hillary wins the nomination, we might as well hand over the presidency to McCain. smh
Let's face it, America is just not ready for a man with black lips to be President.
You know, I'm just an ignorant Canadian, but the whole American political process is so confusing to me. It's much simpler here. Does someone have a link to explain it to me very simply and briefly?
I'm so happy it's over. OMG, thinks have been wacky here the last two weeks. Cacacaus, is what I call it. It's like a bad replay of another election. Who will count the hanging chads? This does not bode well. Will Hillary be this elections Nader? Don't run independent.
There's no way to simply explain anything about the American political process.
Basically each state has party delgates. During the primaries and the candidate that winds up with the most deleagates for their party receives the party's nomination.
Don't get me started on the popluar vote and dangling chads.
Esquared- http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/path.presidency/ this is a pretty easy to follow explaination of the process. Hope that helps!
Here is a link to explain the delegate process http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITI.....index.html It is very confusing however I'm glad this election is so exciting- its been very educational. I'm a big Obama fan, however I would absolutely support Hillary if she gets the nom. I am actually frightened at the idea of McCain winning the general election.
she did NOT win TX. He got more delegates than she did!!
When asked If she believed Obama was muslim. Hilary responded " I have to take him at his word".???
I for one am now truly seeing the Clinton's for what they really are: opportunist vampires.
It's like finding out that white friend you are cool with enjoys a good nig**r joke when you aren't around and believe affirmation action is racist against whites and the whole slavery thing is WAY overblown.
If Hilary reclaims the "Throne" this is one person who won't fall in line to get fooled again.
An the US monarchy continues
AND TO those of you who let this continue
"God save your queen
She ain't no human being
There is no future
In Americas dreaming
Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need
There's no future, no future,
No future for you"
John Lydon "God save the Queen"
"Excuse us for the news
You might not be amused
But did you know White comes from Black
No need to be confused
Excuse us for the news
I question those accused
Why is this fear of Black from White
Influence who you choose?"
