Which Currently Airing TV Drama Is Already Dead?

Which TV drama series is going to go off the air without wrapping storylines or telling the viewers? The network is pretending that everything is fine. The stars continue to smile, and the network continues to promote the show. However, the schedule has been shuffled and show’s writers have been told to clear out their offices.
Update: Gawker thinks it's Pushing Daisies, which is a good Ween song, but a drab television show.

Hope not Heroes but Gossip Girl…
Will Smith.
Lipstick Jungle and that show with Christian Slator.
correction: Slater
Chuck
General Hospital
CSI
@Sarah - Nice. I'm going with DiCaprio or Clooney.
oh, please let it be LOST.
Lipstick Jungle was alreday cancelled, right?
already*
@#6…Fuck off. That's the only TV show I watch with commercials. It's the only reason I'm buying one of those digital coverter thingies to replace my bunny ears.
No way it's Lost. That is one of the only worthwhile shows on television. I only watch: Lost, Battlestar Galactica, 24, and Mad Men. Better not be one of those. Though possibly Mad Men because I heard they don't have any of the actors in contracts past this season.
The writers were already told to clear out their offices when Lipstick Jungle was going to be called "Lipstick Jungle."
see, this is where our opinions differ. however, I won't tell anyone to fuck off just because my opinion of a TV show is different from theirs.
example? I watch reruns of 90210 whenever I can. yeah, I realize people think it's a dumb show, but I'm not going to tell them to fuck off because of that.
people have different tastes when it comes to entertainment.
so let's chill out, OK?
Are they still airing Prison Break?
Cause honestly, how many times can you break out of different prisons, land yourself back in, and break out again before you realize a show is dead?
janice - that's why I've never watched Prison Break. It's the same way I felt about Titanic when it came out… "But, I already KNOW how it's gonna end."
old 90210 reruns make my life.
i'm betting Heroes for this one.
ps. just noticed that the picture accompanying this article is hayden p.
it's for sure heroes.
Seriously. It's like, they got out of jail, and then all the writers wet the bed and were like, "get them back in!!"
So they can break out again. Hm, original.
Ah, the perils of the interwebs. Don't worry, say what, when I tell someone to fuck off its not in anger. I was just being slightly dramatic because I really really really don't want the only worthwhile TV show (imo) off the air!
Two and a Half Men?
::please please please fingers crossed::
oh, I HOPE it's not heroes. I don't understand why everyone is saying it's terrible this season! I think it's much improved since last season.
theresa, the pic is just the editors guess, it doesn't mean it's the answer.
I like Heroes so I am hoping that's not right. I used to like Lost until it got long winded. I am hoping it is that Slater show because my boyfriend loves it and makes me watch it when it comes on.
Prison Break is still on. It's actually a pretty good show and it's more than just breaking out of prison. It's about Wentworth Miller :-)
Lipstick Jungle
I think it's either House or Bones. Both have recently been shuffled into new time slots, and FOX has a history of ending good series without actually ending them, although usually it seems to happen in the middle of their first season…
good to know, skathi.
cause I LIKE you and I'd hate to have to start hating you. :)
my main issue with that show is that it leaves you going "What. The. FUCK?" way too often.
never watched it until the bf borrowed the first couple of seasons on DVD. I watched part of the first one, but after a while I was like "why am I wasting my time on this? they leave you hanging and seemingly NEVER tell you what's going on." it's like they keep bringing up new "mysteries" but never resolve the old ones. I'm all for intrigue and cliffhangers on a show, but this one drives me NUTS!
the problem then comes in when HE wants to watch it and I don't. I figure, if they cancel it, he'll lose interest. so, my hoping for cancellation is purely selfish.
It's already been announced that "My Own Worst Enemy" (a.k.a. the Christian Slater show) and "Lipstick Jungle" have been canceled, so there wouldn't be any reason to blind item that, now would there? :P
Hmm… I just saw something on E this morning about how well Bones is doing. Heroes just lost half their producers, right? I still doubt that's it because it still seems to have some loyal fans… maybe CSI? Half the cast has left/been killed off recently.
I'm for CSI Miami and NY. Both are extremely stupid shows (not only compared to CSI, but in general). They are predictable, brainless and all this pseudo coolness really annoys me.
I wouldn't mind if Lost would go away. It's weird, chaotic and nothing else. With the end of the W. presidency would become perfect with the end of 24 (the Nr. 1 reason people believe torture could work).
TV drama series = The View! Talk about drama!
I doubt CSI:Miami will go away because it does HUGE in syndication. Apparently David Curuso is loved overseas…just not so much here.
What is it these days? Nobody can make a decent television show last. Only reality television shows have any longevity. What is our obsession with seeing the mongrel scum of this country win money…I will never know. I can't explain my own addiction to those stupid rock of love hoes. I guess..no matter how trash the whore..it's still nice to know she's going to win 100,000 dollars and splurge on a couple ridiculously expensive purses and maybe a small house and that's it..she's not making 700,000 an episode to be mediocre. At least they get drunk and fight and have sex and show their blurred titties.
Blah I'm stoned…
I'm betting it's Pushing Daisies. I seriously love that show, but nobody is watching it :-(
I dont care.
House is in no danger, but I don't know about Bones. Hm.
We'd know if Pushing Daisies was going to be canceled, that show's been sharply on the decline. Prison Break is probably ending this season anyway (but not secretly).
I've watched Heroes since the beginning and no matter how much I hate where they're going with it I can't quite stop watching…in that way I sort of hope it is Heroes so we don't have to see the characters go down in flames @_@. Plus it was way, way over budget and the studio wasn't happy with it this season…
Agreed. House will stay even if Fox decided to end it. NBC's USA channel is pushing it heavily because it matches their "characters wanted" schtick — and NBC Uni produces it.
I actually like Slater's show. I hope they stick with it because it's an odd enough story-line to keep me watching. And Slater is very good in the role.
And Lost? I'd be delighted if it got lost just to free up that hour, but it seems to have its fans, so let them keep it.
Mainly, though I wait impatiently for Breaking Bad to return to AMC.
Please don't be LOST. I love that show too.
say what it is the "SAY WHAAAAT????" part of the show that makes me tune in. It is like a puzzle you have to figure out - that show sucks me in for days after as I try to figure out what I just watched.
Sarah and janice - your "why watch when you already know how it ends?" question is exactly why I fell asleep in the movie W. I already knew how that trainwreck was gonna end. Boring!!
Slater's show has been canceled, I am so sorry to all the fans. I am hoping it isn't the the new 90210, I love to watch it when I am plastered drunk. That way the whole episode is a fuzzy happy memory. I mostly watch it to follow the Kelly/Brenda storyline but I think it can't last much longer. I could see Bones getting the ax, or CSI: New York. Miami is just too awesome with Horatio and his signature sunglasses move.
Payter! I saw W and was pret-tay disappointed. I think my husband and I got roped in by the ad with "Once in a Lifetime" playing over it. The Talking Heads can make anything look better than it is.
Also, Lost is about the only show I'm looking forward to coming back. Even when it sucks IT IS AWESOME AND MADE EXCLUSIVELY OF AWESOME.
BTW, its Push th' little daisies, not Pushing Daisies… Long time Ween fan here.
I hope its not Heroes. The show is way better than lost and lost is still on the air. Slater's show was okay, kinda cool. I wish they gave it more time. It was better than knight rider.
I love Pushing Daisies. I'll be bummed if it is.
say what? not lost!!! you are crazy in the face!
you speak blasphemy. blasphemy i say!
that's ok. i forgive you.
:)
say what?, ok you are doubly forgiven for watching old re runs of 90210.
house is fine. the hottie hugh laurie is a producer now. and he would have called and told me.
HE WOULD TOO'VE!!!!!
BSG is going into its last season, I think. Of course that season isn't going to air until about 2015.
as for lost, the show was a bit of a snooze first half of third season what with foolios trapped in cages. but it really brought me back with the flash forwards.
and nobody better touch gossip girl. i sideways ice cream cone chuck bass.
also, i would prefer if they would drop the new 90210 and just start 90210: the Golden Years and have all the old characters come back. i don't give a shit about the new kids. and i really only ever want to watch brenda and kelly all the live long day. but seeing as ah-ndrea was practically 42 when back in 1992, i can't even imagine what it would be like to have to look at her brokeback face circa 2008.
god i hate ah-ndrea and her stupid newspaper.
yes, i'm 34 years old. no i will not grow up.
jay leno just confirmed the lipstick jungle. although i finally read the above posts and realized this is old news.
i was rooting for heroes after the cheerleader killed a guy by NOT DYING. i stopped watching after that catastrophe.
Erica I love Bones, that one keeps getting better and better.
I think the show is still not cancelled and I am betting it is LIFE ON MARS. Although it was supposed to be a guaranteed hit, it is underperforming.
