Good Choice, MTV

Despite the fact that most Americans have no idea who he is, Russell Brand was a great host for the MTV VMAs because he got people talking. True, it was at the expense of the Jonas Brothers, but that's OK because Brand kinda sorta apologized but not really:
I feel a bit bad that I kept talking about their vows to chastity, and I’d like to take this opportunity to say: No one ever have sex again. It’s a mad idea. What a crazy way to spend an evening.
Other post-show gems include his theory that Lil Wayne is from another world and "he has a message for us all." Perhaps that message has something to do with pants.

The Jonas Brothers have vowed chastity? So did Britney.
See? He's so much better when he's not shrieking and pacing around all coke-eyed.
He's said he had a sex addiction, but that he's never sure whether having sex is due to his addiction, or due to boobies. In a nutshell.
Russell brand… He was funny… and i'm a jonas fan! But i mean he went to far… If he just had left the jokes on his first intruduction to the show it would've been great 'cause at first it was really funny… But then it was kinda sad because he couldn't get over it and he didn't have anything else to joke about! Besides JoBros performance was great! Russell if you want to have an orgy and the Jonas don't, it's ok! But cut it out dude!
I don't care if everyone hates him or thinks he was a disaster at the VMA's. I think he's brilliant and I want to have his children.
You know, if two men could do that together. Ugh, curse you biological obstacles! Maybe Jordin Sparks will be our surrogate…
Never date a man who wears more makeup/has bigger hair than you or takes longer to get dressed for the evening. It will end badly.
The Jonas Brothers: Bigger than Jesus? Maybe, whether they outnumber Jesus is yet to be settled.
oh snap. What's that joke…. "The Jonas Brothers are now officially more popular than the Beatles with people who have no idea who the Beatles are"
MTV exploited him for controversy. Since Sarah Silverman's intro last year was watched many times over, they figured they'd get a bipolar recovering alcohol and heroin addict who is very raunchy to get them the same effect this year.
