MTV Just Wants To Screw With Us
We thought Larry Rudolph put an end to the rumors about Britney Spears performing at this weekend's VMAs, but MTV won't shut up about it. According to the network, Brit will be opening the show, but "it is not a performance."
OK, so what does that even mean? Will she be paraded out with Russell Brand at the beginning of the show and then immediately escorted off the stage? Will she be allowed to speak? We don't quite understand how one can "open" a show without a performance, but that's where you come in: What do you think Britney's VMA opener will entail?

I think she'll flash her vajay and say YOU WANNA PIECE OF ME. Then makeout with that Russell dude. Or, she'll be eloquent and composed and wonderful! Either way, it'll be fab.
PLEASE tell me you'll post video on MG of whatever ends up happening so I don't really have to watch the VMAs. And *yes*, I know I shouldn't care. Don't judge me.
Hopefully it will be a public execution. I think an old fashioned beheading is exactly what MTV needs to kick up the ratings. And a pretty head on a stake that sloooooowly slides down, is just the thing to get people calling their friends telling them to tune in.
I think it will be a pre-recorded video, much like her project with Madonna for M's Sticky & Sweet Tour. A video is safe for her, because she can edit it and re-do scenes, with a live performance it's gotta be perfect the first time and she ain't up to that.
our bet is that she will be live in the opening then wisked away to safety!!!

I call a "comedy bit" where she makes fun of herself. I like Rikers idea better, but unfortunately that stake would probably get snarled in her weave and pandemonium would ensue. Nothing gets people riled up quicker than a failed cranial impaling.
Please, her showing up in public looking pretty is a perfomance in itself.
