Cameron Diaz's father passed away early this morning after a bout of pneumonia.

Emilio Diaz, 58, was described as normally being in "terrific health" and only recently developed pneumonia after coming down with the flu. Friends and family were reportedly shocked by his death.

Emilio acted alongside his daughter in There's Something About Mary. Production of Cameron's new film, My Sister's Keeper, was shut down today.

Yeah, that dude deserves commie of the year. I feel terrible for Cameron and her family. Dealing with the death of a parent is not an easy thing.

Well. It seems Mollygood has finally reached the big time and gotten the "audience" they have long strived for. Congrats on achieving big league blog status! You've arrived! (sound of Champagne corks popping in the background)

When you get the flu, don't lay down.

It's when you baby yourself and lay down that it turns into pneumonia.

Laying down is probably what killed Brando's son. Incompetence of the hospital staff that let him lie down.

Walk. If you get the flu walk. It breaks up the fluids that are building in the chest. It breaks up the flem and it flushes itself out.

Walk as much as you can, if you get the flu.

While I've never cared for Cameron Diaz , I'd would never wish death or death of a loved one on someone. Her dad wasn't even that old. That's got to be difficult, and a shock to lose somone so suddenly. Hope she has a good support system.

The term"loses her father" combined with the subject of Cameron Diaz made me think she accidentally left him at a mall or something. I am sorry her loss, though. My father died young, too, and while I'm sure it sucks just as bad when they die at 90, the added element of it being so unexpected tends to add another layer to the grieving process.
