HA HA HA - I think it's funny when white people are called honkies. We don't care. We don't even consider it a racial slur. It's laughable. We haven't suffered for our race at all - sticks and stones, you know?

Suffered or not, it's disrespectful for anyone to call anyone else by anything but their name. It shouldn't even matter what color I am…not to say I would be enraged if someone did call me a honkey - more so I would think they were ignorant and pathetic - but if you don't want me referring to you as a "nigger" because I'm white, don't refer to me as a "honkey." (I say "because I'm white" because apparently it's okay if another black person says it…)

Frankly, I don't feel like any kind of racism is laughable…pathetic and not worth listening to, but not laughable. And as far as whites being suffered - if black people are still considering themselves "suffered" because of the racism in todays world, then so are whites. As racist as some whites are to some blacks, the reverse is also true. The blade cuts both ways people, and it's all very stupid in my opinioin. (Racism isn't stupid, just the idea of it happening at all, to anyone.)

EXACTLY. Naomi calling the women honkies was just an attempt to try and make them feel stupid and insulted. (same as bitch right?) Sorry…I find it childish and stupid - but not all that offensive. I guess I don't allow petty issues to hold that much weight with me. (and) Yeah, (for me personally) racial slurs against whites don't seem that serious. Historically, we've always been on top. On another note. I too am offended when people use racial slurs against white people. I would never use a racial slur against someone else so why should they be able to use one against me? It is also irritating because Naomi paved the way for black models everywhere, she seems to be the last person to complain about how the whole world is against her because she is black. I remember in high school they had all sorts of clubs based on ethnicity, but if the white kids had tried to form a club it would have been deemed racist and insensitive.

I agree, "YerMom." I had a friend who in either high school or college… knew of all kinds of clubs for various ethnicities but none for Caucasians. He or a friend of his tried to set one up but it was deemed "racist." The 'loop hole' for that is… instead of making one for anyone who's 'white'… make one for a specific Caucasian group (i.e. an Irish club, or a Sicilian club) or an even better idea… make a club for each specific European country. :) I'm multi-ethnic, btw.
I also agree with "admittedlyaddicted." Racial slurs and racism in general shouldn't be directed at anyone… even if someone is Caucasian. They were Born that way. They can't help it anymore than someone born Asian or African, otherwise it's all a double standard.
