The mediocre but meteorically successful band Fall Out Boy — for whom Pete Wentz plays bass and flat-irons his bangs — has covered and subsequently tainted the Michael Jackson-Quincy Jones classic "Beat It." If you're a true MJ fan, it's a disaster. And not only is the music awful, FOB's video pales in comparison to the dazzling productions Jackson used to create. Click through to be disappointed.

Pete Wentz celebrated his birthday last night at his bar Angels and Kings, one of the shittiest night spots in New York ($4 for a PBR? Get fucked, pal!). Pete's girlfriend Ashlee Simpson was in attendance, as were his band mates, the singer from another bad band called Gym Class Heroes and the queen of inexplicable celebrity, Tila Tequila.
Along with overpriced drinks, a huge cake was served, forcing one to ponder the similarities between Fall Out Boy and a large sheet of sugar: They're both gross, popular at bad parties, wildly overproduced and loved by naive children. I just wish that, like birthday cake, Fall Out Boy only came around once a year. We could serve them with medi-yogurt.
