MTV: Making Dreams Come True

Lauren Conrad’s collection debuted at LA Fashion Week last night, and LC had the support of all the usual suspects — and some surprises.

The crowd featured Lauren’s family and friends, including Lo Bosworth, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Stephen Colletti, Dieter Schmitz, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado — and Kristin Cavallari.

Kristin, who arrived wearing a Lauren Conrad original, said she and her former nemesis have been on good terms for a long time: “It’s the magazines that like to make us look like [enemies]. I thought this would be a good way to support her and clear the air.”

More pictures than you could ever ask for, after the jump.

There's Hope For All Of Us

Lauren Conrad — seen here preparing for her first runway show — has a lot of good things happening in her life: Her clothing line will be featured tonight during LA’s fashion week, she’s moved into a mini-mansion, and she’s making amends with former enemies.

The Hills’ starlet extended an olive branch to Kristin Cavallari by inviting her to the Lauren Conrad Collection fashion show tonight at Smashbox Studios in LA. Kristin, who has publicly feuded with Lauren over fellow Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti, reportedly accepted her offer.

Next up: A Speidi reconciliation?

From One Addiction To The Next

Lindsay Lohan has left the country to attend Milan’s Fashion Week and pose for thousands of photographers. Her attention whoring is a bit tiresome, but it’s arguably healthier than snorting coke or guzzling bottles of champagne.

The 'Project Runway' Final Five

rk2.jpgjl2.jpgcs2.jpgcm2.jpgsp3.jpg

Don’t worry, this isn’t a spoiler: The five contestants who remained after Wednesday night’s broadcast of Project Runway showed their collections at Bryant Park today so as not to give away the real final three.

After the break: The designer behind each outfit, along with more pictures.

Day 4: Tyson's Revenge

000_01062.jpg

All throughout Fashion Week, I had one mission in mind: To sneak into the Project Runway show. I lingered around the Bryant Park tents last weekend, getting a feel for the place and mentally drawing up a plan as to how to sneak in without actually having my name on the list. I woke up early this morning prepared for battle. Of course, it ended badly.

(At right: The face of a reject.)

Day 3
n725704988_585197_771222.jpg

I ventured over to Chelsea after work this week to catch the Eventide show. I was expecting a smaller crowd because it wasn’t being held at Bryant Park, but, of course, the line went all the way down the block. I sat outside in the cold for a good 30 minutes, but once we congregated inside it wasn’t nearly as bad as the madhouse at the Rock & Republic show.

The girl who checked me in knew who I was after I told her my name: “From Jossip?” she asked. Either I’ve hit the big time or she had gone over that list one too many times. I have a feeling it’s the latter. But I did feel important because I was assigned a seat this time around — and not even in the last row!

It Was Bound To Happen

wenn17467242.jpg

A reporter covering Fashion Week was waiting backstage in the W suite at the Bryant Park tents when he witnessed what is quite possibly one of the most disturbing mental images we’ve had in a long time:

A group of madmen and madwomen storm in and take possession of the suite because — ready? — Tyra Banks messed herself and needed to change.

Now I would like to bring to your attention that Tyra’s people carried a change of clothes for her at NYC Fashion Week. Could it be that Tyra messed herself before? Or just that her entourage is so organized that in case Tyra would ever, maybe, possibly mess herself that one time, they have a change of clothes? I don’t know … but all these thoughts were twirling in my mind when in horror I was watching such an abomination, feeling so alone in the world.

As ridiculous as that sounds, we believe it. We can only hope this leads to a Tyra show focusing solely on adult diapers: How to look fierce in a pair of Depends.

Those Twins Are Going To Be Fierce

wenn50856253.jpg

Jennifer Lopez, who is still very much preggers, showed up at the Marchesa show yesterday in New York. You know, to pass the time until those twins pop out.

Obviously, 9-months-pregnant women are supposed to get all glammed up and pose in stilettos. Those moms-to-be who sit around and rest before giving birth? Lazy.

Fashion: Weak

newamandacord

It’s Fashion Week in New York and the living is dreary. PR people, models, terrible parties and unwearable clothes have been falling on the city in larger quantities than the rain, which has also been unyielding. Nevertheless, ’tis my job to occasionally doff the melancholy, put on a clean shirt and brave the fray, and I did so last night.

Fashion Week Is Still Going On

dennis_basso_fur_08_wenn17483532.jpg

Things got uncomfortable at Fashion Week when some crazies showed up to protest Dennis Basso’s show, which features clothes made from real fur. We’re all for making Anna Wintour feel uncomfortable, but anyone who is comfortable dragging around a skinned animal for a few hours creeps us out.

Day 2

n8304555_44685117_9506.jpg

Fashion Week continued Saturday night with the Rock and Republic runway show and afterparty, both of which I was lucky enough to attend.

This was my first time to visit the Bryant Park tents, and it was insanely overwhelming: There were swarms of people pushing past me in an effort to get to the show on time. Except, of course, the show started almost an hour late. We were herded like cattle into an area behind the seats where we could hardly see the runway, but it didn’t matter: I was at Fashion Week, and you simply couldn’t beat the atmosphere.

Fashion Show or Peep Show?

We were under the impression that Fashion Week served as a preview of the newest styles. Which doesn’t explain what happened at the Betsey Johnson show.

Day 1

n8304555_44669647_6737.jpg

Friday kicked off Fashion Week, and that evening I attended the afterparty for Nabe, a collection by Project Runway’s Victorya Hong and my first FW event.

I got the invitation late Friday afternoon — after I had already made plans to escape the bad weather and curl up on my couch for the evening — but the guest list made me change my mind and brave the storm:

Guests include: Jack Mackenroth, Christian Siriano, Daniel Vosivic, Carmen Webber, Kevin Christiana, Alisa Jiminez, David Evangelista, Patrick McDonald, Nigel Barker, and more.

So I arrived at the Maritime Hotel’s Hiro Lounge promptly at 10 p.m. so as not to miss any of my favorite reality TV stars. I didn’t need to see everyone on the list; just Christian, Nigel Barker and Tim Gunn.

Why Do We Suddenly Feel Itchy?

splashnews_spl16352_007.jpgsplashnews_spl16338_006.jpg

It’s been a busy day for New York: Both Rumer Willis and Paris Hilton have landed in the big city and plan to terrorize residents for an entire week. Looking at their outfits, we can’t help but wonder why they are allowed to even go within 100 yards of Fashion Week.
