The MTV Movie Awards were held last night, and I admittedly couldn't bring myself to sit through the hours-long crapfest. Just by looking at the pictures (after the jump), it's obvious I didn't miss much.

Anyone care to share exciting stories from the show (if you decided to punish yourself last night)?

End Of Days

satcpremiere2.jpg

It has descended upon us: The Sex and the City movie premiered last night in New York City, much to the delight of … Eli Manning? He was one of the guests in attendance, for reasons unknown, at the type of over-the-top shindig that should only be reserved for stuff like the second coming of Xenu.

The pictures (and there are many) are after the jump.

We hear word that some oddly popular event happened last night in Los Angeles. We're not really sure what it was all about, but we've got pictures of some of the self-congratulatory, insular men and women in attendance after the jump.

Jennifer Hudson, seen here maybe getting robbed, is on a short list of actresses Aretha Franklin would like to play her in her biopic.

The "queen of soul" has said that though the process is ongoing, she has watched Hudson's breakout role in Dreamgirls "a couple of times lately," adding that Fantasia Barrino and Halle Berry are also being considered for the part.

Of course, if the film follows Franklin into present day, she'll need to play her, uh, incomparable self.

Notes from the Front Lines

jlony

Because we were too busy soaking our Indian effigies in gasoline in preparation for today's celebrations, we missed out on the Jennifer Lopez concert at Madison Square Garden last evening, the one in which she was going to announce her pregnancy. Luckily, Jossip's adman was there to get the lowdown:

Jennifer Lopez did not announce that she was preggers last night but, did allude to it and she definitely is.

However, JLo was not the star last night. the Puerto Ricans went ape shit for Marc! i felt like i was one of the only white boys there and it was lacking on the homos too but, Jennifer Hudson was in the front row and LL Cool J and Fat Jo both performed with JLo.

And there you have it.

More from the show under here.

Jennifer Hudson has officially signed on to what is accurately and awkwardly being titled Sex and the City: The Movie. She will play the role of Louise, assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw. Expect her to be more streetwise than Carrie, hard working, sensitive and funny.

Fresh off her Oscar win for best supporting actress, Jennifer Hudson has revealed to Access Hollywood that she is currently pursuing a biopic:

At the NAACP Awards last weekend, Hudson told Access Hollywood she wants a role in the dramatic tale of a famous baseball hero, reinvisioned on the big screen.

"As far as film, I want to do the Jackie Robinson story," she told Access' Shaun Robinson.'

"It tells of greatness and our history," she said. "That means something to me."

Inside sources tell MollyGood that, while casting directors respect Hudson's talent, most agree that her tits are much too big to play Jackie Robinson.

andreleonmistake.jpg

Jennifer Hudson is blaming her Oscar fashion don't on Vogue's celebrity editor Andre Leon Talley:

Jennifer Hudson, did win big - but lost big, too, because of the much ridiculed metallic bolero Andre Leon Talley made her put on. (Post fashion editor Serena French said it made her look "lost in space.") "Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue," said one fashionista. "Andre insisted she wear that hideous Oscar de la Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero.

"Jennifer really didn't want to, and so [noted stylist] Jessica Paster got her a beautiful gold Roberto Cavalli custom-made. But when Andre found out, he went ballistic. Moments before she left for the show, there was a power struggle and Jennifer ended up putting his outfit on."

Keep in mind that Jennifer thanked God twice for her best supporting actress win. My thoughts are, instead of blaming one of the most powerful fashion editors working today for the bolero mishap, she should have blamed God for that one, too. She should proclaim that God willed her to don the chunky, metallic jacket because it slightly resembles angel wings.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you, Jennifer. Andre giveth and Andre can taketh away. God didn't put you on the cover of Vogue.

Hey, Abigail Breslin, couldja be any cuter? I don't think everyone in the whole world wants to hug you and giggle yet. And Nicole Kidman, couldja stop being creepy and staring deeply at little girls who aren't even paying attention to you?

As you probably know, last night was the Oscars; the perennial opportunity to acknowledge with trophies films that have already been acknowledged with large scale critical acclaim, audience approval and millions of dollars.

There were shockers (Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar?) and gimmes (Scorsese woulda hung himself) and a slight cringe when you realized that there must have been a conscious decision to exclude Anna Nicole from the "In Memoriam" montage (no love for Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, Academy?)

And, of course, the red carpet throbbed with couture. Here's my picks for the best. Keep in mind that I don't know anything about fashion. I just know what I believe to be good which, now that I think about it, is kinda knowing at least a little bit. And, with this guy considered as an expert on the subject, I would actually prefer to not know a lot. Not sharing interests and knowledge with Cojo is something I strive for.

Best dressed probably goes to Jennifer Hudson, just because it looks like her gown had pockets and function is important and refreshing.

And Ryan Gosling's just included because he brought his mom and sister and I thought that was nice.

PS That Japanese girl from Babel, Rinko Kikuchi, wins for unexpected stunner of the night.

PPS Helen Mirren looks good "for her age", huh?

While Beyonce is bending on the cover of the most famous lunkheaded lad mag around, her Dreamgirls co-star Jennifer Hudson is gracing hyper-elite Vogue. So, while 15-year-old boys and their dads are high-fiving and staring at Beyonce, chic and calloused women everywhere will be poring over Jennifer Hudson. Hmmmmm. I'm not sure who wins.

Regardless, Jennifer Hudson looks good on the cover, although of course people are already making the obligatory fat jokes because her mouth is open (fish in a barrel, dudes).
I do appreciate Vogue making me look right.
