Elaborate, arrogant theatrics while performing are funny when done by Morris Day, because he's only slightly successful and not that great looking, so you can tell he's joking. When Mariah Carey does it, it's not for show; she's really stressed about how her hair looks in the middle of her set, and that's damn sad.
