It's Miley!

There's no amount of money in the world that would make us sit through the American Music Awards (OK, that's not entirely accurate), so instead of a write-up of the snooze-fest, here's an exhaustive collection of photos. From the looks of things, Miley Cyrus once again made the entire event all about her (and her 16th birthday, which she's been celebrating for the past few months). Surprise, surprise.

Sweet Jeans

We can all agree that Jonathan Knight from New Kids on the Block is definitely gay, right? I mean, the signs are all there: He's the only member of the group who's not married, I had a crush on him when I was younger and Perez Hilton has already outed him. Now he's just toying with us by updating the NKOTB blog with a long, rambling entry about the only woman in his life: his dog. It's disturbing, awkward and not funny in the least (and after the jump).

Take some notes from Lance Bass and then get back to us, J.

Squeee!

Hot on the heels of New Kids on the Block, Lance Bass teased girls across America with the possibility of an *NSYNC reunion in the near future.

'We're definitely itching to do some music. … We've always discussed it. It's always a possibility and we still owe some records to the record companies.'

'I want like the seriousness of the possibility,' Nancy [O'Dell] asked of the reunion actually happening.

'The seriousness is good,' Lance said. 'I'm serious! … [But] it's gonna be hard to get Justin [Timberlake] to calm down and get off tour. He has not stopped since our last tour. He's a workaholic.'

Translation: Justin won't participate until he's used up his 15 minutes of fame.

New Kids on the Block, a group composed entirely of men well into their 30s, releases its first album in 14 years today. Tonight, the new version of 90210 premieres. Which of these 90s phenoms is going to crash and burn here in 2008? One, the other, or both?

Whitney Strikes Again

So Queerty is reporting that a member of New Kids on the Block is gay, and — surprise, surprise! — he's the one I had a crush on when I was 5 years old. This is really becoming disheartening.

GOOD NEWS FOR NKOTB GROUPIES "New Kids of the Block member Donnie Wahlberg and his wife of nine years, singer Kim Fey, have hit a low note. … Fey filed for divorce on Aug. 13, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who have been separated since January, have two children, Xavier, 15, and Elijah, 6."

ONE BIG, WEIRD, WASHED-UP PARTY "Michael Jackson is set to make a comeback with golden oldie boyband New Kids On The Block. The King of Pop had secret talks about the link-up with the band's stars at his home in Nevada last week. New Kids singer Donny Wahlberg, 38, said: 'It's very exciting. It's one big party and everyone wants to join us.'" Let us remind you: Michael Jackson will never have a comeback. Ever.

The Not-So-Right Stuff

• The New Kids on the Block reunion excitement has plateaued. [DListed]

Barack Obama: "Any fool can have a child, but that doesn’t make you a father." And the great speeches continue. [SH]

• For Father's Day, Kate Hudson let her kids hang out with new boyfriend Lance Armstrong. Because that's bound to be healthy. [PS]

• How Whitney Houston treated her stepson: "She decided to turn me into one of her security personnel. I was a teenager but I was walking around dressed up in all black with a Security shirt and she’d have me work for her." [ICYDK]

Billy Bob Thornton is obviously a bit jealous of Brad Pitt. [INO]

Cue The Shrieking

Here's the new video for "Summertime," the comeback single for the New Kids on the Block. It's nothing too original, but all the NKOTB fans are going to love it because there's dancing! And matching outfits! And shirtless boybanders! We can hardly contain our excitement.

If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It

NKOTBtoday

New Kids on the Block stopped by The Today Show to perform some old hits — key word being "old," because it's just not the same as it was back in 1991. That whole thug appeal of Donnie Wahlberg waving his arms around while singing about "The Right Stuff" isn't the same when it's 2008 and he's in a suit on a morning show.

Click through for the video, if you care to ruin your fond NKOTB memories of yesteryear.

Nostalgia

newnewkidsotb

OMG, you guys, this is actually happening—a New Kids on the Block tour! You will never, ever be able to reclaim your youth — nor will these Kids — but why not get some front-row tickets and try to do so just one more time? It'll be like Botox, but with 100 percent more awkward dancing and off-key singalongs.

Dates after the jump.

Turns out this NKOTB reunion thing isn't just a publicity stunt, and there's a hokey single to prove it. The song, "Click, Click, Click," is about the Kids getting aroused while taking pictures of women. "Pose for me," they plead. The word "feenin'" is used.

Before you play it, imagine how it sounds. We promise, your guess won't be far off. Enjoy?

And By God, There Will Be Dancing

New Kids on the Block made a very special appearance this morning on The Today Show to announce the group's reunion (complete with a new album and tour) and make me ashamed that, out of all the boys, I loved Jon. The problem with this whole fiasco lies in the fact that all the old NKOTB fans are wiser now and have more pressing things to do than spend $60 on a reunion concert. A good time for this comeback would have been, oh, say 1999?

The band's Q&A session — where they explain what they've been doing with their lives for the past 14 years — after the jump.

THE NEW SPICE GIRLS? "Looks like the Today show's got the right stuff: All five original New Kids on the Block members — Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood and brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight — will appear together in the morning show's courtyard on April 4."

I Want You Back

nsync.jpg

In a world where Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block are reuniting, why not 'NSync? JC Chasez confirmed that the band will likely never reunite: "I think everybody's really excited about their own projects. Joey [Fatone] is doing a great job hosting these television shows. Obviously Justin [Timberlake] loves what he does and he's super successful at it, and rightfully so."

And who wouldn't be excited about JC's new project? He's the host of that awful Randy Jackson-hosted show on MTV — something about a dance crew? We watch Rock of Love 2 every Sunday night, but even we won't subject ourselves to that mess.

OMOTB?

nkotb

The New Kids on the Block are the original modern boy band. The pretty puppets from New England did it first and they did it best. And now, according to rumors, they might be doing it again.

Despite being a little too old for the site, former Kid Danny Wood (in mustard above) has hinted on his MySpace page that a NKOTB reunion is not impossible.

"I loved being a part of the group, and have always thought 'maybe someday we'll get back together' — you just never know when your someday will come.

"I can guarantee all the fans that if this reunion were to happen, they would hear about it first on www.NKOTB.com."

But is there still an audience for New Kids on the Block? This commenter on Us' site seemed excited about a reunification: "Please come back New Kids On The Block, that way I'll finally have the courage to KILL MYSELF!!!"

Of course, one can't be sure Wood's talk isn't more promotion for a flagging Web site than actual entertainment news, but, as with anything in Hollywood, time and money could probably make a New Kids reunion possible. We think enough of the former has passed. Now someone needs to come forward with a lot of the latter before the rest of the former runs out.
