'In fact, they are the mainstream and depend on traditional marketing to inform decisions about which films seem right for themselves and their families.' Faith-based campaigns have failed to deliver big numbers even for such recent Christian-themed films as 'The Nativity Story' (2006, $38 million) or 'Facing the Giants' (2006, $10 million). For that reason, several marketing executives say they are shying away from faith-specific outreach."

Columbia Pictures has acquired rights from Scholastic Media to bring R.L. Stine's young-adult "Goosebumps" series to the bigscreen.

Scholastic's Deborah Forte is producing alongside Neal Moritz via his Sony-based Original Film banner.

"Numerous people have tried to bring 'Goosebumps' to the bigscreen, but luckily Scholastic never found the right fit," said Moritz … "I've been a huge fan of the property for a long time. I met with Deborah several times and convinced her that Original and Sony were the best place to take it."

Hey, Hollywood, all of America and anyone else willing to listen, can we please put our heads together and come up with a way to stop giving lots of power and money to assholes who call children's books "properties"?

CAUSE FOR INSANITY "Fans of CBS' 'Moonlight' are so passionate about the vampire drama that they're willing to sacrifice their own blood to keep the series on the air. Teaming with the Red Cross and online protest rally point YouChoose.net, "Moonlight" viewers are organizing a nationwide blood drive to garner network support for a second season. They claim that more than 3,000 fans have pledged to donate a pint."
