Well, let's discuss the good news first: As of this very moment, there are no plans for a Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt reality show.
The bad news: There will be a Hills spin-off — focusing on Lauren Conrad's friend and co-worker Whitney Port, who has publicly said she would never move in with Lauren because she can't handle the cameras being around at all times.
MTV is prepping a show in which Whitney Port, 23, becomes bicoastal while working for fashion PR firm People’s Revolution — and befriends a group of NYC gals (including socialite Olivia Palermo).
Says the insider: 'There will be more blondes in the city than you ever expected!'
The only person less deserving of a Hills spin-off is dead-eyed Audrina Patridge. Seriously, we love Whitney and all, but there's no way she can carry an entire reality show on her own. Why not give Lo her own series? Now that we would watch. (OK, fine. We're going to watch Whit's show, too.)

The MTV Movie Awards were held last night, and I admittedly couldn't bring myself to sit through the hours-long crapfest. Just by looking at the pictures (after the jump), it's obvious I didn't miss much.
Anyone care to share exciting stories from the show (if you decided to punish yourself last night)? CONTINUED »

Hills resident Audrina Patridge celebrated her 23rd birthday this weekend in Las Vegas, and noticeably absent were Lauren Conrad and the show's camera crew. Could Audrina and LC be on the outs just in time for the fourth season? We sure hope so, because a Hills without Speidi and Audrina — and more Lo, Whitney and Kelly Cutrone — is a happy Hills.
Also of note: Audrina, honey, it's probably not best to wear bright pink underwear with a see-through black dress (see fourth photo). Just trying to help.

Here's what I learned from last night's finale of The Hills: Nothing ever really happens on this show. Yes, it took me three seasons to figure that out. It finally clicked as I realized that the ending cliffhanger was part of last week's sneak peek. So, basically, the whole show was leading up to the moment we were waiting for (Lauren and Audrina's confrontation), but by the time this came to fruition, the credits were rolling. How cheap.
In other news, Heidi and Spencer were nowhere to be found during the finale party — thank goodness — and the rest of the Hills ladies wore outfits similar to what we see all the time. Yawn.

People magazine asked the four Hills girls to take pictures of themselves first thing in the morning for some beautiful people issue. We don't know. Anyway, the three semi-normal ones (Lauren, Audrina and Whitney) actually attempted to follow instructions; naturally pretty Heidi Montag, on the other hand, expects us to believe that she wakes up in full makeup and a "Look at me! I'm trying so hard to be sexy!" pose.

We learned many things from last night's premiere of The Hills, number one being Lauren Conrad is still a terrible Teen Vogue intern. Between answering personal calls on the job and ruining a designer gown, LC destroyed her chances of being hired by anyone with a brain. We also learned — courtesy of MTV — that French guys are kind of creepy and dirty-looking, twirling their mustaches and using phrases like, "You are leaving without kissing me bye-bye?" Oh, and Speidi? Still terrible and fake.
But most importantly, we learned that any scenes involving Lauren most likely aren't scripted, as she is the worst actress of all time. The live segments were seriously uncomfortable to watch, what with LC being forced to fake laugh and act like she enjoyed Mariah Carey's out-of-place performance.

Lauren Conrad's collection debuted at LA Fashion Week last night, and LC had the support of all the usual suspects — and some surprises.
The crowd featured Lauren's family and friends, including Lo Bosworth, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Stephen Colletti, Dieter Schmitz, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado — and Kristin Cavallari.
Kristin, who arrived wearing a Lauren Conrad original, said she and her former nemesis have been on good terms for a long time: "It's the magazines that like to make us look like [enemies]. I thought this would be a good way to support her and clear the air."

We'll go ahead and admit it: We are obsessed with The Hills. And MTV's latest promo for Season 3's bonus episodes is pretty awesome, if you forget for a couple minutes that the entire thing is fake.

Teen Vogue editor Lisa Love is finally speaking out about the magazine's breakup with MTV "reality" show The Hills. Former interns Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port have reportedly moved on to bigger and better things, but apparently Love is still a little bitter.
Women's Wear Daily had reported the magazine decided to part ways with the MTV reality show because of the girls' wild lifestyles of clubbing, making out and feuding.
'I think that’s really why Teen Vogue had had their moment with them — it went into another zone,' their boss, editor Lisa Love, told Us [Weekly].
Asked if the show is scripted, Love replied, 'I think why they say all that is because there’s so much editing. They shoot reality and somehow it’s changed in the editing room to appeal to things, I don’t know. I’ve never watched the show.
'They were great interns in the beginning,' Love added of Conrad and Port, 'and then it’s time for interns to go some place else, right?'
Seems like Conrad has already moved on. She recently unveiled her new clothing line, the Lauren Conrad Collection.
What does Love think of her designs?
'I think it’s more T-shirt kind of things and jeans, very simple basics.'

Lauren Conrad celebrated her 22nd birthday last night at LA's S bar. We're assuming she had a good time, because The Hills' starlet had to be helped out of the club and into her car. On hand for the extravaganza were Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port and Lo (!!!). Spencer and Heidi were nowhere to be found. They were probably busy staging "candid" photo shoots with the paparazzi.

Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad's sidekick on The Hills, seems to have found herself a new boyfriend. We thought we were underwhelmed by Trainer Jarett, but this new guy exceeded our expectations. And not in a good way.
The two had dinner at Katsuya in Hollywood last night, where they presumably discussed how on earth a guy like him scored a date with a girl like her.

Hills character actors Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port, who, when not being toyed with by boys on their show, moonlighted as interns at Teen Vogue, will part ways with the magazine following the March issue.
"The girls have moved on from Teen Vogue," [a spokeswoman] said, declining to say whether or not Teen Vogue will be part of the series next time (which probably means it won't be).
We wonder: Will the editorial staff miss their wry wit and sparkling copy? Oh, that's right, they were both just hired commercials: "The two partners benefited greatly from cross-promotion — Teen Vogue featured both girls on its August 2007 cover, a top seller for the year, and Conrad by herself on its June/July 2006 cover."

On this season's finale of The Hills, the kind and sapient Lisa Love promised Lauren Conrad, "Paris…[is] just magical. It’s just a level of sophistication that you’ve never seen before."
While a true friend would have told the truth and said, "Paris can be magical if you manage get past all the dog shit," the issue at hand is that today Page Six translated Hills-speak. In The Hills, "sophistication" means "pimping," and "that you've never seen before" means "to men you've never met."
