Good god, we've just seen the worst blind item the New York Post has ever run:

Which hunk in a summer movie is a violent, closeted homosexual? The heartthrob snuck into his ex's apartment a few months ago and raped him so violently, the ex ended up in the hospital - and the actor paid him $500,000 to keep his mouth shut.

Now, if the Post is printing this, isn't it saying that it has good information about a brutal rape that's gone unpunished—information it's keeping secret in order to drive up Web traffic and sell papers? And if it's not saying that, isn't it instead saying it will print unfounded bullshit just as long as it's alarming and salacious? New lows every day, people!

Oh, it's rumored that the violent sexual predator the Post is protecting is Will Smith.

Poor LL Cool J

tcamileydance.jpg

When Miley Cyrus was chosen to host the Teen Choice Awards, which was filmed last night and will air tonight, we're unsure whether or not the producers expected her to hog the spotlight as much as she obviously did. Judging from the pictures, she treated the entire awards show like one of her infamous YouTube videos, including her BFF Mandy in most of her bits and ruining a perfectly good LL Cool J performance.

In other news, Dwight graced the show with his presence, Mariah continued to use a glitter microphone, Arcuhleta's dad still won't go away — and when did Chace Crawford become so good-looking?

FAIL

willsmithdaughter_lg.jpg

As if losing out in the box office battle against her father wasn't sad enough for 7-year-old Willow Smith, New York magazine felt the urge to rub salt in her wound with this lovely picture above and a headline that reads, "In Your Face, Willow: Will Smith Crushes 7-Year-Old Daughter at Box Office." Because that's not harsh at all.

NO ONE WANTED TO SEE 'KIT KITTRIDGE'? "Will Smith lead the Fourth of July weekend box office. His latest action comedy Hancock earned $107.3 million since opening last Tuesday, becoming Smith's eighth movie to open at No. 1 and his fifth movie to debut at No. 1 over the Fourth of July."

Here we go again! The gay media watchdogs over at GLAAD are bent out of shape because Will Smith’s titular character in Hancock uses the word “homo.” Thrice!!

Oh, Well. Will Smith's Still Rich.

hancock_willdiddytyrese.jpg

The reviews for Hancock, which had its grand premiere yesterday in Hollywood, are here. And they’re not very good, unfortunately. According to various reviewers, despite the great cast and excellent concept, the movie starts to suck in the second half. Incidentally, these are almost the exact same reviews that I Am Legend got last December, and it ended up breaking box office records. So its doubtful that Will Smith is very worried.

After the jump, more premiere pics and some review excerpts.

But He Promises It's Not

willsmithtomcruise.jpg

Like any do-gooding multi-hundred-millionaire movie star, Hancock's Will Smith is involved in the philanthropy scene. He's also, as prying eyes have woefully pointed out, been involving himself with the Tom Cruise scene, which means of course that he's basically a raving Scientologist trying to hold in his inner homo, because that's what the cult is about, right? Back in 2004, Smith donated $20k to something called "HOPE: The Hollywood Education and Literacy Program," which is the church's "literary program," where children get homeschooled and, we're guessing, brainwashed in their formative years. Now, he and Jada have been plugging a way at their New Village Academy, a private school they're funding that will open in December, which got the LAT treatment over the weekend. Naturally, the first word out of the school's mouth is that it is not a Scientology facility. (Even Will and Jada still insist they aren't of the church.) But a certain anti-Scientology crusader is casting his eye of suspicion on this educational institution, mostly because of a … goat.

Whole Dudes

New research calls into question a study suggesting circumcision halves a man's chances of contracting HIV, a claim detailed at length in 2006 in this former "Most E-Mailed" New York Times article. According to one expert, the latest data shows the 2006 findings to be "spurious and unsupported" and more related to behavior than physicality. Whoops.

Sorry you got such a bad rap, hooded friends. To make you feel more included, after the jump, we've made a list of all your ALLEGEDLY uncircumcised brethren in Hollywood.

NOT YOU TOO, WILL "Will Smith has strongly denied rumors that he is a Scientologist, but being best buds with the World’s Most Famous Hubbard Freak (actor Tom Cruise) may have finally gotten to the Fresh Prince. Life & Style spies claim Will was chatting up the unorthodox religion to anyone who would listen on the set of his new film, Hancock. … 'He gave out Scientology-like pamphlets at the end of the shoot.'"

David Letterman must really enjoy the movie Hancock: In the past week, he's had Jason Bateman, Will Smith and now Charlize Theron on his show. Charlize, whom we love, was the proud owner of the most bizarre interview, which was so disjointed and uncomfortable it beat out the weird Dave/Will kiss from the night before. At the end of the interview, Charlize joked about being drunk — and we really do hope alcohol is to blame, because if not, her jokes make for painful situations.

If there's one celebrity who needs to cross over into the music business, it's Jason Bateman. The man whom we will always refer to as Michael Bluth visited David Letterman last night and sang what will surely be one of the summer's hottest tunes. We won't give much away, but it's about poopy diapers and it's sung to the tune of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." The man truly is a genius.

Even If That Means Forever Silencing Those Inner Urges

ellenwill.jpg

Noted Hollywood star and heterosexual Will Smith appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ television show on Monday to discuss – as Ellen is wont to do following some little California court ruling – marriage. Ellen, as you might have heard, plans to marry girlfriend Portia de Rossi, and so that is all she can think about, even if her writers might have put other talking points on her cue cards. So how has Smith, who is married to heavy metal singer Jada Pinkett, kept his marriage going strong for 10 years?
