This issue of Jessica Simpson's Dolly Parton Tribute Breakdown that everyone is making such a fuss about? So not a big deal. I mean, she looks a little silly, but it's not like she ran off the stage sobbing in shame with people throwing tomatoes at her (btw, we should totally bring that back to the show attending experience). Equating this incident to Ashlee's SNL debacle is just mean.

Yeah. That's just mean to compare it to the SNL moment. I remember seeing that when it happened---I blankly stared at the TV and thought, what is she doing??..LOL!!!

Poor Jessica. She needs a few Xanax.

Umm..that is NOT the entire performance. The part where she goes, "um um um um mm mmm mmm mmm mm mm mmm mmm mm" and looks really idiotic and pleading before she tells Dolly how nervous she was has been edited out apparently.

To be clear...that mmm um um um stuff was her trying to mumble in tune like when kids forget the lyrics...it wasn't her doing her dumb Jessica thing.

Used to Love Her says:

They totally edited out the rest. When she kept talking and then no one applauded her and she ran off looking stupid. lol I would have cried too. Totally embarassing. How do you NOT learn the words before performing that song? AND you have cue cards? She couldn't be bothered to practice? There is ALOT of downtime on MOVIE SETS - she could have practiced! Maybe she did. Maybe she was just horribly nervous and her stomach was killing her because of nerves - she looked so stupid holding it. HA HA Poor girl, NOT her year. Strange that a professional Pop Singer for 10 years cannot sing a song in front of live people. Sad. Really speaks for her abilities I think. If you can't do that after 10 years - but Carrie Underwood can? What does that say about you?

On people.com there's an article which explains that she re-taped it for the television broadcast.

Too funny. Y'all slammed the Braykin for missing a couple of notes out of thousands he's sung yet want some sympathy for the Simp? Unh uh. I do feel for her as that's embarrassing as all hell, much like the missed notes mentioned, but she isn't deserving of tons of sympathy...she should have known the words; at least the sounds the dude made were an attempt at something that belonged. Fiercely frickin' painful notes, to be sure, but known.

Poor Jess...wonder how soon she's posing for Playboy for a comeback. Yessir, you can't get past those double D's (tm creepy Pa S.). Bleech.

Wilson says:

I saw a show of Frank Sinatra before. A show where he totally forgot a few lines from his song, one of his very own songs. And i'm talking about "the Frank Sinatra" here. And i wonder why you people are totally unforgiving to this girl? Such things happen to performers. I say the commenters' exaggerated reactions on this incident is bloody idiotic.

No. 9 (Jolene), I'm very curious to see the unedited version. Where can I find it?

No. 7 (Wilson), people are forgiving of Frank Sinatra because it is obvious that he has the talent... but Jessica, nope! This incident shows that the reason why she became famous is not because of her skill, but totally because of her boobs and ass... it's sad...
