I'm in a giving mood today, so instead of the usual reminder that the world is going to hell, I'll leave you all with this sweet video of a lion and his human "parents." Feel free to cry — I did.

    Dear Whitney,

This video is very old and we've all seen it. That said, OMFG I still cry every time, even though my husband thinks it's dumb.

i just saw this video for the first time last week and i bawled like a jackmonkey.

    stupid cute loveable lions.

why can't people be more like lions? one minute you're adorable, the next minute you're mauling fools. i wanted to maul someone today, but it's just not really acceptable in civilized society.

Whitters - I hadn't seen this yet, and I must say that this melted my icy black heart, if only for a moment.

Sar - praise Cheesus for the "Jazz Paws" comment.

Vagarious - I was right there with you. I was waiting for a Siegfried & Roy moment. Twisted, I know, but men who go out into the wilds of Africa with that much product in their hair deserve to be mauled just a little.

I think WHITEY just doesn't let people of color access the videos. Oh, sorry. I meant Whitney.

Aw well I just said what the rest of you didn't realize you were thinking. Any of you would have said it, in my position. I'm no hero.

ilnazhad - "Are you cock ferrets just fucking with me? Where the cock is the video that keeps making you pussies cry?" - this made me cry (laughing) again. It's so crass and yet so poignant. :)

No denying it, that is a great video.

I remember reading about a women who moved to Africa to study lions. She ended up rescuing a female lion cub and nursing it back to health. When it was old enough she released it back into the wild. Every year the lioness had cubs, she brought the cubs to the lady's farm. I'm gonna have to try and remember her name and see if I can find something on her.
