Today: Scientologists

scidoodybig

Celebrities make too much money. Subjective, sure, but probably true. Truer still is that very often those fortunes are wasted in inglorious, ill-planned blazes.

But sometimes the millions serve a higher purpose; sixth homes declined in favor of the public that makes a celebrity a celebrity. Yet where are those figures in Star and the National Enquirer?

Screw Birkin bags, time for money that counts: political donations.

Nancy Cartwright

Occupation: "Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp./Ac"

Total of political contributions since 1978: $6,000

Party or PAC: Dem - 58% Rep - 38% PAC - 4%

Major donations: Chuck Grassley ($1,000), 21st Century PAC ($250)

Political language: None at all. But she did give $10 million to the Church of Scientology, which is pretty crazy.

What do you expect a whole lot of Republicans in entertainment? HA! Plus actors are notoriously cheap, why do you think they are always there in herds for the freebies?

So, I'd rather read D-Listed. Michael K is ten times more sardonic without being pretentious. That, and ridiculing your readers via "The Commies" doesn't do much to enhance readership.

Mollygood used to be okay - what happened?

The Commies are not a mockary! They are revered and demanded on a regular basis. If you don't get that, then you don't deserve to be here.

Ok…now that I see my post, that sounds a lot angrier than it actually is. I'm trying to come across as joking, not actually upset or anything.

I love how Tom says that talk is overrated when settling disputes. Sort of says a lot about him don't you think?

Civic Doody is by far my favorite column. It's time-consuming to look up all of this info, and I certainly don't want to do it anyway (nor can I think of interesting people to look up). Cord, you do a great job of picking interesting categories. Thanks!

Wow, I didn't read the comments until after I'd posted. I didn't mean my post to be a rebuttal to Hatshepsut.

I also enjoy the wit of Michael K, but find your Civic Doody to be a nice change of pace. Definitely different from any other blog, and worth the time to look. Interesting facts that I would look up on my own if I could remember to. ;)

That's your example of "when Mollygood used to be okay?" I can think of 10 other posts at least that are far superior to the night that the lights went out on Britney posts.

Mollygood is still more than okay, and personally, I think it's even better with the addition of the lovely Whitney. She balances out Cord nicely.
