People Don't Care About Issues

The second half of this clip is Hillary Clinton speaking in last night's debate against Barack Obama. Watch as she unabashedly lifts her closing remarks from pretty-boy quitter John Edwards. It's getting scandalous!

um…not really…that was a pretty general statement…I wouldn't say she lifted it, not the way Obama lifted word-for-word at least two speeches from Deval Patrick.

Thank you. I was just going to say that. There's rumor that John Edwards is either going to support Obama or be his VP running mate.

Plus, Hil went on GMA this morning clarifying her remarks - making them mirror Edwards' comments even further.

I heard her aligning her self with Edwards more than once during last night's debate.

Also, women come up to her and grab her arm and ask about various issues that she then takes personally. (o.k.-she said that twice. It was enough for me to make a wizecrack about it last night to my daughter.)

My gut tells me that Hillary Clinton is, unfortunately, part of an Old Regime and people are starting to realize that they want a new last name in the White House. But, her consolation prize won't be so bad. I think she'll knock Harry Reid on his ass and become the most powerful Democratic Presence in the Senate, ahead of Kennedy, Biden et al.
Actually, it's about time she did some real work in the Senate. For all her "experience", she really hasn't accomplished anything that can be labelled with her name on it. I mean, really? What HAS she ever done, besides be Bill's wife and someone who is in the Senate. Can anyone name ONE bill that she's put forward? I think all she's done is vote- using it to position herself for a White House run.

hms I think you're right about people wanting "regime change" in every sense of the word. The old guard that encompasses both Democrats and Republicans seem to be made of the same corrupt cloth. Their views may be different, but they all reek of power hungry crony musk.

I do appreciate how these two kept a certain amount of respect for each other last night, in my opinion.

(Hillary had a chance to slam Obama
on the lack of experience question, but she kept her answer in the "I messages" arena.)

And ps, I noticed how Obama was able to address the experience question in the framework of "if McCain were the one asking". I felt he answered well.

Um…hms, if you actually care about experience and accomplishments in a candidate, you might reconsider your support of Obama. Compare his and Hillary's resumes side by side and check your personal bias for a moment and it's pretty obvious once again that a woman can achieve many times what a man does and still be considered inferior by some simply because she's not male. Sexism does not carry any measure of the shame in this country that racism does, yet both are equally deplorable. Someone can yell at Hillary, "Iron my shirt!" and draw a laugh but if anyone dared to yell at Obama, "Shine my shoes!" do you think people would find it funny?

Actually, if you care about Senate experience and accomplishments between Obama and Clinton, you might actually do research on what each one has done on the Senate rather than boil it down into racism versus feminism. I'm still undecided between the 2, but this site compared the bills that each candidate has voted on or introduced in the Senate. It's pretty surprising, especially when you consider that Clinton has been in the Senate twice as long as Obama.

(She tells Obama to stop lifting passages from other people.)
Except, her words are likely her own creation, which happen to be akin to Edward's speech… it is a simple idea..

hmm she started the childrens health insurance back in the 90's as well as some headstart stuff. This was while she was first lady.

But, she never finished anything, that is what we are all saying. I can "start" building a 6,132 square foot mansion, but if I don't finish it, who gives two shits? For all the fighting for children she claims to have been doing for 35 years, she sure as hell hasn't helped the situation at all.

She didn't start the Medicaid or Headstart programs. They were both created in 1965 under Lyndon Johnson.
