Hopefully Not for Long

Recently, the criminally overpublished Time scribe Joel Stein offhandedly invited the hugely famous George Clooney to his house for dinner. Apparently unaware of Stein's inanity, Clooney took the bait, which was ultimately lamb and spaghetti carbonara.

Stein includes the above video in the online version of his profile piece on the celeb, and it's strong evidence supporting the claim that millionaire titan George Clooney is, against all odds, a humble man. In it, we see Clooney leave the dining room to literally crawl around Stein's Los Angeles home while looking for an annoying, hidden alarm that had interrupted the meal. Though standard video editing makes it impossible for us to time the movie star's search for the noise, we assume it took at least a half an hour, and he continued even after the alarm fell silent.

Clooney comes off great in the 2 and a half minute clip. So great that we really hope the hunt for the alarm was just an excuse to get away Joel Stein. Because if he actually enjoys the writer, who once naïvely, insanely penned this, "I don't support our troops…The truth is that people who pull triggers are ultimately responsible, whether they're following orders or not," it makes him a lot less likable.

Makes sense to me. It's just another way of saying: "Thou shalt not kill". You think that's naïve? Insane?

Well, actually, Charlie, it's "Thou shalt not murder," which is fundamentally different from "Thou shalt not kill." I don't want to get into a whole just war thing here, but if you're going to throw the Bible around, at least get it right.
