Union Labor Is Superior

The Daily Show is kind of back, sputtering through the motions the way only an entity confident in its sycophantic fan base could.

Even before the strike, we hadn’t seen the show in months, so we’re not sure if this clip is any worse than the usual. It’s better than Leno with writers, but that’s not a compliment. Enjoy?

It hates me. It’s not playing. But either way, I saw 5 minutes of that show last night, and it brought me somewhere between Annoyance Town and the Sleepy Kingdom. It’s hard to sleep when you’re annoyed, but that show somehow made it happen.

I thought TDS and The Colbert Report were really funny, considering it was Stewart and Colbert pulling things out of their asses. They weren’t allowed to write notes, or supposedly prepare at all, but still managed to entertain me.

Yes, the show would have been better with writers, but you can’t totally dismiss natural talent.

Enough with these dumb writer rules. They should be able to write for themselves.

No, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report are kind of crumbling. Still a ten out of ten considering the circumstances.
PS
I can’t believe you haven’t watched the show in months!

I have to say, while watching The Daily Show I felt embarrassed for his awkwardness. The Colbert Report faired much better.

I laughed throughout both shows. I thought they did pretty damn well under the circumstances, although I thought Colbert did a bit better.

Considering they had no choice but to return, even though they are also members of the Guild, I thought they did ok.
I adore Jon but he definitely needs his writers.
