Dane Cook is the worst and that is surprising to no one. He's the worst at telling jokes, the worst at making movies, and the worst at being himself. Dane Cook is the triple threat of terrible.
So when the posters for My Best Friend's Girl came out, co-starring Cook and Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs, and looked terrible (see left) Dane Cook had no one to blame but himself. And the people who make movie posters, obviously, since they were trying to ruin his career with crappy artwork. And Dane Cook doesn't need anyone else making him look like an idiot, okay? He's got it covered.
Surprisingly then, the reviews for MBFG were not quite ecstatic for Mr. Cook's performance as an asshole-for-hire, and the film opened in 3rd place this weekend to a dismal $8.5 million (still more than Bangkok Dangerous though). Let's see where the movie did Dane wrong:

Who are the Dane Cook fans? Who are the people going, "You know who's funny? Dane Cook!" Because I have never met one.
So, if you are a Dane Cook fan, please make yourself known. I have questions for you.
I'm so embarrassed to say this but I saw this movie yesterday. My friend is a fan of Dane Cook (I have NO idea why). The movie was predictably horrible. So unfunny and painful. It was offensive even to me and I'm rarely offended. Now that I've admitted that I saw this festering turd of a movie I feel like I need to join the witness protection program.
I enjoyed this closing to one review of MBFG:
"As for Kate Hudson, her once promising career continues its decline.
"Hudson shouldn't merely fire her agent, she should get somebody to degrade and humiliate him. Quid pro quo."
See… we all secretly appreciate critics!
I thought Employee of the Month was funny.
I think my mom is/was a Dane Cook fan. He used to take his shirt off during his shows, right? If so, she is. But she also finds Carlos Mencia funny, so I don't think I need to explain her reasoning to you.
I WAS a Dane Cook fan…back before he began making crappy movies. I did like him in the movie "Mr. Brooks"…only because he takes a shovel to the face. HA! Now thats comedy.
If all he did was take his shirt off, I'd probably like him too. I think I would hate myself a little for it though.
DOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCHE.
That is all.
Employee of the Month was really funny and his stand up is great if you press mute.
i like Dane… not ashamed to admit it (im also a dumbass.. so take it with a grain of salt) If i recall isnt Whitney a closet Dane Cook fan too? heaven forbid we all have the exact same tastes and like all the same things.. differences is what makes life interesting and north america a great place to live… we just forget that sometimes.
ps. Dane is great (probably because his character is used in small doses) in "Dan in real life"
STOP TRYING TO BE A MOVIE STAR AND TRY WRITING YOUR OWN SHIT YOU DOUCHE BAG.
I really don't understand all the hating on Dane Cook. He is the world's top stand-up comic, in fact he sells out major arenas. And his CD's are top sellers, so I can't be the only person that likes him. I have had the pleasure of meeting him after one of his shows, and he could not have been a nicer guy! He stuck around until every autograph had been signed and every fan that wanted a photo with him got one.
Sorry, but one or even two decent preformances does not give reason for this idiot's career. He needs to be forgetten in Hollywood along with Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba. He is one of the least talented comedians/actors I can think of. I am thinking he is on the fast track to Pauly Shore Zone!
"the world's top stand up comic"?
According to WHOM? Source, please?
Really and truly, s.w., who cares where John D get that "world's top stand-up" assertion from? It's irrelevant anyway. Just as it's irrelevant how many CDs Dame Cook has suckered shallow college students into buying. Neither proves his stand-up is any good.
Given Cook's penchant for plagiarizing, I wouldn't be surprised if John D copied and pasted those words from another website.
WAFFLE MAN!!! I am the Waffler, gold and crispy, bad guys are history…
SW? - I agree, who says this guy is top anything??
To Cord - "Dane Cook is the triple threat of terrible." This was the funniest observation of the day. Love it!
I think just as people get caught up in loving an actor or comedian, they get just as caught up in hating said performer.
I think his stand up is pretty funny, the movies I've seen him in were good. He's not by any means the best, but I don't see where all the hatred comes from. There's most certainly worse.
