We love David Cook for many reasons. He was consistently awesome on American Idol, he beat out pipsqueak/stage robot David Archuleta, and he makes a song about rainbows and butterflies tolerable. Here he is performing his new single, "Kittens Spew Sunshine Miracles," on The Tonight Show. If you want to really enjoy the performance, take a drink every time you hear an inspirational word.

Do they still have Dianne Warren writing the sucking songs for them?

I had to stop at the half way point and switch from wine to Tequila. Once I consume half the fifth, I will attempt to watch the rest. Or maybe I'll just hit myself in the head with a a frozen chicken and call it even. Either way, I know it will be painful.

I remember the days of the legends, Beatles, Donny Osmond, Elvis and many more. In even a crowd like this there would have been mass mob them, fainting screaming , or I love him so much I could die. Sorry do not see that here. That is what tells the true.

mmmmm a tad off key, but his presence on stage I guess makes up for it. Is it me, or his range is waaaaay limited????…oh well, he's a cool guy and Americans voted for him because AI needed a rocker to make up for lost ground, but you are right, the only way one can swallow the off key screams is by having a shot of tequila…or two…or three perhaps!

lolz y'all need to get real.

1, tonight show performances never have a true concert feel, peeps are boring no matter who is the singer
2, he is not off-key, weird, y'all must be tone deaf
3, diane warren didn't write the goopy win song, but it is still crap he is contractually obligated to push for hopefully not any time past the tour
4, cook also performed a cover of foo fighters "my hero", the rock version. video can be found on you tube and tonight show concert series website. crowd was different with that song because it's a good rocker song and not a goopy kittens spew rainbows song, lol
5, cook also performed an acoustic version of foo fighters "my hero" - also on you tube - and it is so full of awesomeness that it makes the haters look even more foolish, that guy is mad talented.

Lets see where he is in 5 years from now. If anyone remembers his name, I think you can call him successful.

I saw him on the Today Show with David Archipeligo (or is it Muffaletta?) and he was really sweet. That being said, he's got a weird shaped head.
