"GET REAL!"

We really love his loyalty to the grand tradition of cinema and we agree that many, many people need to "get real" about practically everything, but what if they're just, like, on the subway watching The Bourne Identity? That's OK, right?

Relax, David, we don't think anyone is staring at their cell phone and trying to wrap their brain around Inland Empire. And if they are, they deserve the headache.

What if you have already "experience(d)" the film? I mean I have seen Big Trouble Little China eleventy billion times - does watching it to alleviate the pain of the morning commute somehow diminsh all the previous viewings of this masterpiece? I think not.

It's totally true. I watched Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde, on a portable DVD player, and I felt like I was cheated. I really believe I missed out on a lot of the lighting nuances and acting finesse that really lent so much depth to Elle Woods. Small screens really are an insult to the artistes who create these gems.

Lisa, if BTLC ever happens to lose some of its tarnish, and really, I can't imagine an instance where it would, but you never know, I recommend The Last Dragon, which is an oft overlooked cinematic tour de force.

I saw "Inland Empire" on my flat screen Samsung… Maybe I need to wait until they finally invent those televisions like in "Farenheit 451" that cover entire walls. Maybe that would make the meaning crystal clear?

Lily: I have Netflixed the Dragon. The Last Dragon. I doubt that BTLC will ever lose esteem in my eyes. I heart it so much.

LOL. Well. In my town movie tickets are $11..and with the bunch of new releases..I can't afford that every weekend. Online movie sites and limewire provide a nice, cheap alternative to that. Not that I don't enjoy the movies..but as a college student..it just isn't possible.
