Mawwiage, Sweet Mawwiage

L-words Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were wed this weekend at their home in Los Angeles. Because every celebrity is equally unworthy of privacy in the eyes of money hungry paparazzi, there's some sneaky photos of the nuptials after the jump.

It's their big day so I'll refrain from stating my feelings about the sleeves.

Isn't it amazing that two gay people got married and the 'sanctity' of marriage didn't come to a crashing down. There was no apocalypse, no packs of wild dogs running the streets, no great injustices aside from the bullshit that is women's gymnastics judging. I haven't looked outside yet, but I doubt there are any Nazi's riding dinosaur's. So how about that, gay marriage doesn't bring about the end of days.

Good for them, I wish them well.

Portia looks lovely.

I would be so pissed if I were her. She got all dolled up and Ellen looks like she pulled her regular work clothes out of the hamper and put them back on. WTF Ellen?!

Hey Buck, they don't need a man get it? Portia is so beautiful and I think Ellen looks cute, that's her style.

I went to my first gay wedding a few weeks ago. Both brides were dressed similar to Ellen. It was a great wedding and I was so happy for them! So, I'm happy for Ellen and Portia too - yay for gays!

50% of the point of going to the point of going to a wedding is to share your loved ones' joy. The other 50% is to look at pretty things, much like 100% of the point of watching the Oscars or purchasing women's magazines. If both brides dressed like Ellen, I'd take my toaster back.

GBW - On that note, I'm totally appalled at the jeans the camera guy's wearing. I've been to plenty of weddings and never once seen anyone, even behind the scenes, dressed like it was freakin laundry day.

When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we tried very hard to think of a way to get "Have you… the wing?" worked into the ceremony. We weren't able to figure out how to trick our celebrator into saying it, which was a disappointment at the time, even though it would've permanently sealed our reputation as a dork couple forever. This has nothing to do with Ellen and Portia, although they are adorable - your byline just brought it to mind.
