Morning Zoos

robertdowneymugint

Start your day off with some brutal awkwardness here, where you can listen to what happens when a radio DJ interviewing recovering junkie/alcoholic Robert Downey Jr about his new film, Tropic Thunder, asks him who he'd most like to "have a brew and smoke a blunt with." Oh boy! (Answer: "I think it would be regrettable if I did that.") It just gets worse from there.

I'm not sure how it got worse. I had to stop listening because all I could hear were his answers…"Britney Spears"…"Nick Nolte"….????????

Uuummm… "who's a hot black chick in Hollywood right now?"
Anywho… I don't get why some actors don't just say which movie they loved being a part of most. Gregory Peck said he adored working on To Kill A Mockingbird most and Audrey Hepburn said Roman Holiday was most dear to her. The answers aren't "self-important."

I've always been a big fan of Robert Downey Jr, I'm glad he has been able to pull his shit together. I think he is a good example of a star that got treated like the rest of us would if we had broken the law. The guy went to prison, not a country club county jail, no 18 minutes and released bullshit. Real motherfucking prison, and it saved his life. If he was going through his drug problems now with the way California is with their catch and release policy, he would probably end up ODing.

That DJ knew what he was doing, he probably just wanted to see if he could rattle him.

He's always seemed cool but this interview made him seem even cooler. He comes off as self-aware and very, very patient.
