Is This Dog a Metaphor We're Not Getting?

Following Ellen Degeneresteary breakdown yesterday, some of her fans took to the phones to attack the source of her trauma, pet adoption agency Mutts & Moms. The agency’s owner, whom Degeneres decried as being cruel for taking back a dog the comedienne adopted and then promptly gave away, was berated by angry Ellen supporters, one of whom threatened to set fire to her home. Said another: “You slimeball bitches are not worthy of living. How dare you make Ellen cry. Give Iggy back!”

A call to action answered! Who says the Americans of today are unwilling to fight for justice?

I love Ellen. I’m not about to make threatening phone calls on her behalf, but I think she’s great. Anyone who can entertain and converse intelligently is okay by me. And I do feel bad for her the whole Puppygate 2007.

those people were just being assholes. they should have just made ellen’s friend fill out paperwork and let her keep the dog. now the poor dog is back in a cage and two little girls are heartbroken.

Did those dog nazis have to send some goons to the kids’ home at night? You know, have a drop-off point or whatever.

While I’m sure Ellen’s fans think they are helping, threatening to burn down one’s house tends to make one less apt to respond in a positive manner to one’s request.

True Story. Look it up.

Well, I figured that folks would be pissed about the whole thing because everyone love Ellen & puppies are cute (at least thats why I was pissed) but I didn’t think they would go that far.

Clearly I learned nothing from the never-ending JA-BP-AJ non-saga. *eyeroll*

These groups sometimes make it so hard to adopt a pet. Thats why people buy animals (keeping the puppymills busy) or get them from the newspaper.

These militant nazi rescue groups really do more harm for the cause of pet rescue than they do any good.

Thay said they won’t let the family have the dog because they don’t let families with children under 14 to adopt small dogs. The youngest kid is 11! What BS.

I think the rescue group handled the whole situation extremely badly; yes, Degeneres made a mistake, but the group’s response was well beyond what would be considered reasonable in the circumstances. As for the rabid fans, they epitomize the root word “fanatic”.
