Those of you who can’t catch today’s Ellen, during which the lesbian funny lady grills Republican presidential hopeful John McCain on gay marriage, should dive into that there jump and watch the clip.
It’s perfect for that midday slump…

This is why I love Ellen. This is also ( one of many reasons)why I will not be voting for McCain.
I think it’s good that he stood his ground and didn’t try to make up some lame excuse like so many politicians do. I also thought that he was very polite in the way he responded.
I can see where people come from on the issue of banning gay marriage…but I also don’t feel like it’s not anyones right to be able to say what you can or can’t choose to do. Christians base the notion on their faith - well, you can’t force someone to accept Jesus, why do we feel like we can force them to follow the beliefs of Him?
Besides, I’ll ask everyone game for banning gay marriage exactly what I tell my mom when she’s pissed at something my step brother did; how, exactly, is that gay marriage affecting your life? It’s not…so why do you care and what does it matter?
The fact is, it doesn’t. And while I can appreciate the fact that this country was built on Christian values, what is it really hurting? It’s not going to lose your spot in Heaven for you. Besides, might do the world some good to mind their own respective business a little more…
[end liberal Republican rant here]
I agree with you, aa. Except I’m a slightly conservative Democrat. *lol*
But I think they were both very respectful. I think it went well.
haha! we should start out own party. we can be tigers instead of some lame elephant or donkey.
I really do love Ellen…I’m glad she handled that conversation like she did. She’s always so good at being honest and hitting the hard topics, without coming off like an ignorant ass like SOME talk shows *coughtheviewcough*
I adore Ellen. Weird shit with the dog adoption aside, she’s just awesome.
right on, AA. except i’m knee jerk hippie liberal. democrats aren’t liberal enough for me.
:)
I will say, that regardless of your political opinions, it’s refreshing to see two people who come from different worlds agree to disagree in a polite and thoughtful manner. He wasn’t tap dancing around the issue and clearly didn’t call her a heathen (sp?). I like that they were both straight forward and didn’t compromise thier own beliefs. I would be interested to see how the other candidates would answer this very question.
