We love when Scientologists leave the religion and then spill their guts to the media. This time Marc Headley, who used to produce promotional films for Scientology, is confirming one of the rumors surrounding Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: Tom auditioned Katie to be his girlfriend.
Following Tom’s split from Penelope Cruz in 2004, the megastar told his BFF (and head of Scientology) David Miscavige that he was having trouble meeting women. So the church sent out a casting call that said, ‘There’s an upcoming Tom Cruise movie you might get a part in. Come for an audition.’ There were of course restrictions: You had to be single, pretty and in your twenties.
Tom rejected original suggestions Erika Christensen and Sofia Milos (who are Scientologists) in favor of Jennifer Garner, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba (in that order). Reportedly Jen and Jess didn’t take the bait, but Scarlett came in for an audition. Once she realized she was at the Scientology Center in Hollywood, she got scared and bailed. Smart girl.
But Katie Holmes popped into the Scientologist’s minds because she had previously spoken out about her crush on Tom. ‘They got her to L.A. and introduced her to Tom. The moment he meets her, he’s enthralled with her and he told Miscavige later, ‘I knew immediately she was the one.”‘
You hear that? That’s the sound of Jennifer, Scarlett and Jessica breathing a huge sigh of relief.

He was enthralled with her because she was the end of the list and everybody else said, not even for 5 million.

I think it’s cute, albeit creepy, imagine… you’ve got posters of this hunk all over your wall as a teen, there are rumors he’s gay but (that doesn’t stop a girl from from dreaming) you still crush. Then she gets a gig in Dawson’s Creek, a couple movies later…and then BAM! Dream man comes into (hehe) her life, she becomes Queen of a church and has a beautiful child.
there’s something so sad about that vacant stare in her eyes. and how she looks like she’s 40 even though she’s barely 30. and yeah, her kid is cute, but i’m telling you that kid is chris klein’s, not tom cruise’s. she even looks like chris klein. that’s my own little conspiracy theory, i reckon.
i’m so glad they replaced her in dark knight with maggie g. katie holmes sucked the life out of batman begins… everytime she was on screen i wanted to kill her about the head and face.
i completely agree that suri is chris klein’s kid. i always have. i believe this story, and i worry for headley’s safety.

BTW, if you haven’t read it, you should read the biography that came out about Tom not long ago. The first few chapters are boring, but it gets VERY interesting later on. Explains a LOT about Tom. Very creepy, too.
Wasn’t there a sick Japanese horror movie about a lonely guy who had the same idea (i.e. setting up a fake movie casting call when he was actually looking for a wife)? “Audition” I think it was called.
Urgh - don’t mention Audition. i had nightmares about the piano wire thing or ages. Now I can see it with Katie and her dead eyes doing it. If Tom were to lose his feet, would that take him down to 5ft tall?

No doubt this is the truth. Katie Holmes career was going no where before she got with Tom. She had just as much to gain from this arangement as Tom did. For him, It puts a rest those homo and sterile rumors to rest, and for her..it put her back in the spotlight. Just look at her now, she’s become this fashonista and is in a bunch of magazines. She’s had this huge makeover. She wears loads of makeup and dresses like she’s 38. But overall she looks better because of it and , plus she has beautiful little girl. So it worked out for both of them.
Wow. I am freaked out now. What a freak. Someone should put him out of his misery.
