Patriotism

Monsieur R, nee Richard Makela, is a French rapper who might be sent to jail for doing the sort of thing that American rappers do all the time. A court recently agreed to consider a complaint lodged by a conservative MP against Monsieur R. Why? Because the rapper referred to France as a "slut" in the song "FranSSe" off of his latest album, Politikment Incorrekt.
The actual offending lyrics are ‘”France is a bitch, don’t forget to fuck her till she’s exhausted/You have to treat her like a slut, man.” At another point, Mr Makela says: “I piss on Napoleon and on General de Gaulle.”‘ Mon Dieu!

All rappers should go to jail for crimes against the musicaly handicapped
Stupid French thinking their country is so great nobody can't say shit about it. It's not that great.
Do they have freedom of speech? Those "lyrics" are pretty disqusting.
Monsieur R is actually fantastic.
I don't know, I think it's pretty funny! He's obviously doing it for shock value. Who cares what he says, it's just his opinion. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.
The "continued" link goes to the Jossip post on larry King.
There are some serious issues in France with their immigration policies and whatnot (sorta like merica!), this is disturbing news.
You know if this is how the Frogs do the deed, I am not picking up a French lover anytime soon. I don't want to be exhausted. I need enough energy for a beer and perhaps a light snack.
Lesson for today, kids: If you angrily call a nonexistent, ideological entity a slut, the people who think they represent it are going to start screwing you even harder, and then blame you for it.
Meanwhile, calling your girlfriend a slut and then pissing on her is still fine.
I wonder if he'd talk the same shit about his actual ancestors in Africa?
I love the Kid N Play feel of the video. I also still feel like even though it's rap, I cold be smoking a very long cigarette and riding on a train while I listened to it.
p.s. RADIOHEAD FANS ALSO LIKE MONSIEUR R.
I'm begrudgingly going to agree with Cord on this one. Monsieur R is pretty fantastic. France, however, is not.
Calling France a bitch and a slut and having people get upset about it is just effin funny. I'll have to pick up his album.
Come on people, it is just a way for an average rapper to get free publicity, and it is working very well.
Gayledi, yes, we have freedom of speech in France, but unlike the US, we do not have freedom of hate.
And oh, Luz and Mae, you are morons and your knee-jerk french-bashing is soooooo 2003.
Which amendment was the one that gave us freedom of hate? Why won't france give you that freedom? This is an outrage, all around.
Sar, we do have freedom to hate or love whoever we want. What we do not have is freedom of hate speech, the one Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly have built their wealth on, and as far as I am concerned, that's a good thing.
I have been to France and I have been to the USA several times each France seems to have more freedom to me.
That's it. I WANT MY FRENCH FREEDOM! FRENCH STEREOTYPES FOR ALL! LONG CIGARETTES AND CATHERINE DENEUVE FILMS, 'MAINTENANT'!!!
BONUS - If we all get French Freedom, it won't matter WHAT we call our fries!!
IDIOT
This entertainer is getting all the publicity in the world by making his opinions known through rap
WELL GOOD FOR HIM MAY HE MAKE THE MONEY
as one or two people have also said already if you dont like it dont listen to it
Just one small comment on living in France
I live in France and have not come across anything yet that I dislikein fact if you said I had to go back to England you would have to drag me back kicking and screaming
