Decides to Stay

pargod

During an exclusive collect call this weekend, a seemingly Tookie-esque Paris Hilton revealed to Barbara Walters that she has found God and is a changed woman.

"I'm not the same person I was," she said. "I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me. I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance."

"My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail."

"God," she said, "has released me."

True: "I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute."

False: All that other bullshit.

I wouldn't consider that statement true because the act was NEVER cute. So "no longer" doesn't apply.

I wonder if God was invited to the party she was having before her ass got hauled back to the pokey? Or did she find him/her when the cuffs were slapped on - again?

Also, girls only looked up to her becuase she was dancing on a table. With no underwear. And an ass-flap.

Lisa, i was sooo going to go there with the ass flapjack. good call. if God spent the night in paris, i hope he went home and gave himself a good scrubbing.

I don't know if I believe her or not. while on one hand everything she said about her act not being cute is very true, it sort of sounds like her publicist or someone fed her those lines.

Everyone seems more articulate in prison. Remember even Mike Tyson managed to sound *somewhat* pulled together. Pulling the God card is a sure fire way to have people on your side. If people call bullshit on you, you are genuinelly allowed to be offended. If they feel pity for you, then the God card worked. At any rate, I hope she really means what she said. It would be nice for her celebrity status to actually be put to good use.

Blah I'm with you on this one…we'll see what happens. I want to know where her "friends" stand on all this (Ritchie, Mischa, Cuthbert)? Just like cockroaches they went a'scurrying when shit went down…

Funny how much one can change after roughly a week in jail.

Speaking of sounding all of a sudden coherent in jail…anyone read the Joe Francis manifesto on TMZ? Priceless.

Joe Francis is such a douche, and his douchiness shines through brilliantly in his manifesto.

I hope Paris means it, but in my job I have seen hundreds of criminals play the "I found God" card, and the majority of them end up back in trouble.

Can we get a bet going on how long after her release until she's seen partying? I'm giving her five days…

Marie, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt…put me down for two weeks. :-)

I wouldn't risk money on that bet. She never said "I'm swearing off night clubs". She simply said "I'll never drink and drive again", "I want to open a playground for disabled children, and "I've found God".

that's true, but if she hangs out with the same people and revert to the same behavior as she did prior to her epiphany (sp?), don't expect much to happen.

as much as i despise paris, i seriously hope she gets some help and grows up. she has a huge following (whether we like it or not), and access to a lot of money and influence. if she really turned it around, she could accomplish a lot with her life if she would just get off of that high pitch kiddie sounding voice shit and act like a concerned, active, worthwhile member of society.

Please let Paris become a nun. Please. That would be awesome.

Oh the Vatican would shit thier pants (or robes, I guess) wouldn't they? Actually at this point, I'm just hoping she stops with the drugs and actually reads one of those books she's been toting around. I don't think they are there for any other reason than to anchor her bony ass from being taken away by a good breeze.
