But Everyone Drinks the Product-Aid

That guy Ken Paves should start a cult. Anyone that can convince people to sit around for four hours—sometimes eight—and then part with hundreds of dollars for something that will be different in a week has powers of persuasion that the Krishnas would kill for.

NO! I cannot stand her. She's completely untalented, overrated, and WHY THE HELL IS HER WEDDING SUCH HUGE NEWS??

    Fuuuuuuck.

For the record, though, I'd totally sit for hours to get my hair done. I *love* it, it's like a massage.

And for good work, I'd pay hundreds of dollars if I had it.

She does seem like such a brat.
and yes, I would sit for 4-8 hours letting someone pamper me too. It what ladies like to do.

Well, us black girls know alllll about sitting around at the hairdresser's.

I tell you, it isn't that much fun when you don't have a choice…

i had my hair chemically relaxed for a while and it'd take hours each time. I hated it. so i stopped. simple right?

So, who exactly is forcing black (or any) girls to do it? There's always a choice.

Oh God no. She's beyond awful. And it's even worse that Desperate Housewives keeps trying to convince us that a) she's desireable immediately to every man she meets, and b) all 5'2" of her was a "supermodel."

Judi: Ha! Relax. Read it as "don't have a choice if you want your hair to look a certain way".

And please don't start a racial identity thing now.

i'm definitely interested in eva… i think she is talented and beautiful and far less annoying than many others in her circle. also, her wedding is huge news because she is marrying the nba mvp who is part of a basketball team just declared a dynasty. then again, i live in san antonio so spurs & eva sort of come with the territory.

why? is my opinion not valid? i don't have to dislike eva, and clearly there is an interest in her and her wedding if ok magazine is willing to pay $2 million for pictures.

cmc your opinion is just as valid as BeAdequite's opinion that yours is laughable is.

i dont think she she was invalidating it… just laughing at.

i think the spurs are a joke so i could careless. (and before you get mad, i think the celts are a joke but i still route for them-so spare me)

Wait I'm confused; why does this post mention Ken Paves and hair extensions? So that means she just came from having him do her hair, right? If she has hair extensions, why is her hair still so short? So what was she before, bald?

    Krista,

The only part of me not relaxed is my hair at this point :P

Who's starting a racial identity thing? You brought up black girls knowing what it's like to sit for hours with no choice (not no choice under certain circumstances, but whatever) not me.

All I said was I (as a pasty-ass white girl) have done it too and decided my Jew-fro wasn't annoying enough to warrant 5 hours at the salon.

    Tis all.

i'm feeling you Krista. the minute hairdressers take a look at me, at first they start praising the thickiness and fullness and gorgeous length of my hair. 1 month later they start asking, "You again?" and then i know it's time to find another hairdresser who will for a fleeting moment be able to appreciate what it's like to have thick, full, long curly hair.

but i too think that Ken Paves has got these women totally snowed. you know some day they will wake up and ask themselves if it was all really worth it.

when i look at her in this photo, i can see what she will look like when she's 70. it's something about that bag, that bony hand, and that face. i don't know. i see a bingo bag and support hosiery when i look at her.
