That wacky Ellen DeGeneres convinced Jenna Bush to ring her father, POTUS George W Bush, during a live taping of DeGeneres' show yesterday.

After some gentle prodding from Hollywood's most beloved lesbian and her wide-eyed audience, Jenna called the First Family's private telephone line for a chat.

Nervously waiting for her parents to get on the line, Jenna said, "They're going to kill me." Horse feathers! Everyone knows they only kill other people's kids.

Actually, asshole Afghani and Iraqi insurgents kill other people's kids. You can argue that the President put other people's kids there but people sign up for the military knowing full well they could get killed in war and that's what makes them so damn brave and respectable. This may or may not cause a blow out here on the thread but I don't give a damn because my brother spent 18 months in Iraq and I'll call people like him brave and respectable if I so please.

P.S I'm not necessarily saying the President has nothing to do with it, obviously. But it seems people forget that there are people out there intent on killing us one way or another ,on our ground or theirs. And people also seem to forget the decision each soldier made in the first place.
Ok I'm done…back to making light hearted comments, promise.

As a critic of your writing, i must stand before you and appologise. That was the single most clever thing I have read in response to Jenna Bush calling her dad. Kudos. Sadly its true and kudos to you for pointing it out this saccharine PR attempt.

    Converted.

I'm pretty sure they wanted to kill us before the war and now they'd like to kill us more than ever. I'm pretty sure we've now converted even more for their cause. I feel sooooooooooo much safer now. Thanks, Mr. Bush.

Undeniably, if you ask me. But what the fuck is your point?

The debate was solely on the US soldiers and whose responsibility their deaths are, but regardless of that aspect, there's an enemy in the war, and it's not too preposterous to assume your president has ordered them to be killed.

Guess the only thing debatable about it is who really ordered it.

I would hope that since we are in a war, that the enemy is killed. That's sort of the object.

The U.S. soldiers do take great care not to kill women and children, unlike the "insurgents."

That is my fucking point, along with the fact that I don't believe any one nation's children are more precious than any other's. They are all precious in my eyes.

My point was about the definition of "kids". JB is 26, so "kid" must refer to having parents (if not mental capacity, I don't know her), thus being applicable to everyone. Since you're not re-defining killing, I don't see how your statement goes against it.

"The U.S. soldiers do take great care not to kill women and children, unlike the “insurgents.”"

War is hell. Most people don't have the "right" personality to get through it emotionally intact, besides, self preservation can make you do the oddest things. So, without labelling US soldiers different from anyone, after viewing reports, I'll say that's not 100% accurate.

"That is my fucking point, along with the fact that I don’t believe any one nation’s children are more precious than any other’s. They are all precious in my eyes."

OK, that's cute. I think they're all equally sticky and noisy.
