Nas spoke to MTV about the Jesse Jackson gonads controversy, and, in typical Nas fashion, made a few good points and then completely lost me. He claims that the reason we don’t need Jesse Jackson anymore is because we have Nas, Barack Obama, David Banner and Young Jeezy. Someone please explain.

I think Jesse Jackson, he’s the biggest player hater. His time is up. All you old n—as, time is up. We heard your voice, we saw your marching, we heard your sermons. We don’t wanna hear that sh– no more. It’s a new day. It’s a new voice. I’m here now. We don’t need Jesse; I’m here. I got this. We got Barack, we got David Banners and Young Jeezys. We’re the voice now. It’s no more Jesse. Sorry. Goodbye. You ain’t helping nobody in the ‘hood. That’s the bottom line. Goodbye, Jesse. Bye!

There was a time when we needed people like Jesse and Sharpton, back when they actually stood for something 40 years ago.

Nas, I like most of the music you put out (Nastradamus was 99% garbage though), but you need to remember, YOU ARE A RAPPER. You're not paid to say smart things.

Yes, Jesse Jackson is a hypocrite, a bigot, and a fool, but Nas thinks he and freakin' Jeezy of all people are black leaders in the community? Nas, you sound just as dumb as Jesse did when you say things like that.

Did anyone see the Boondocks cartoon where Martin Luther King' came out of his comma and looked at what had become of the black community?

Nas, shut your punk ass up. I don't agree with some of the things Jackson has done, but he has done more for people than a bunch of spoiled rappers ever will.

Keebler, that episode was fantastic. I think it was nominated for or won an award.

    This is how it goes.

It is time for the older generation to sit on back. Relax. Let the young people come on up and take the helm.

We don't ever think that they are ready, that they have the vision.

The young people are chomping at the bit.

Let them take it away. It is exhilarating for them. And scarey.

We old folks can now move on to the advisory capacity. And now we have time to have many beers.

Before you know it, a fresh new batch of young people will take over these current young people.
The current young people will be old people, but they won't THINK they are old.

Also, Nas, just be kind to Reverend Jesse Jackson. I think he may be coming down with Alzheimer's.

The good Reverend Jesse thinks he is a squirrel.
He is collecting nuts, or someithing like that.

    Be kind now.

You know because whenever I think of Barack Obama, the nest person that comes to mind is Nas. The guy with "Nigger" on the front of his album. What a tool.
