I Just Practice The Religion Faithfully

Jennifer Lopez, friend and relative of a plethora of Scientologists, defended the religion in a recent interview — but she's totally not a member of the cult. She just holds the same beliefs, hopes to school her children in Scientology lessons and thinks it's a great way of life. Got it?

I do know a lot about Scientology. And I know about the practices. I know all about what the technology is and all that kind of stuff. It's very helpful. So in a sense, yeah, you do call on it. No [I don't consider myself a Scientologist]. I wouldn't have a problem saying it because I know what it is. I have no problems with it and it really actually bothers me that people have such a negative feeling towards it.

J.Lo went on to tell about a nervous breakdown she had a few years ago on the set of Enough: "Right away they want to give you pills. But I have never liked the idea of pills and kept saying no to that. … I've still never been to a shrink. I'm not a shrinky person." So you don't believe in medicine or shrinks. Hmm. If it walks like a duck…

"I do know a lot about Scientology."
So I guess she knows it was created by a sci-fi writer who told huge whoppers about his personal history (like saying he was a war hero and a blood brother to the Blackfoot tribes). And she knows about the way the cult tried to infiltrate the U.S. government and had members (including the founder's wife) sent to prison for it. And how the cult tried to destroy a journalist's reputation and life in Operation Freakout. And she knows all about the Sea Org and cult-run rehabilitation camps.
Yet she still accepts it as OK. What a dunce.

The bf treats pills like they're all poison, and I think it's because he thinks people should solve all their problems by thinking about them.

I heartily disagree and think he's ignoring some important things - but the point is that J.Lo and her marathon/party day made me think she was one of those "everybody has to be totally strong" people.

So, that's also possible. Instead or in addition, whatever.

If your demented religion is so not as bad as it sounds Jenny, then just admit you are one of them. You won't admit it cause you know that scientologists kill people sometimes!

sar–my fiancee is the same way. Once told me that "depression is all in your head". I just stared in wonder and amazement.

Anyway, don't Scientologists keep most of this shit for members only? I mean, there was such a big to-do about Cruise's tape being released awhile back. How could she know so much about Scientology if she wasn't a member, or her friends weren't actively pushing it on her? If the choices are pills or Scientology, I'd rather the former be pushed on me.
